Got an AVS for Christmas so now I can play Famicom games. What are some good/interesting carts?

Kunio-kun? Those are great for a laugh

The AVS rules, I love mine. Highly recommend some shonen kusoge like Ultimate Muscle and Shenron no Nazo. The built in Game Genie makes Shenron no Nazo a fun romp. I use my AVS with a chinese EverDrive N8 clone, they've dropped in price since I bought mine and I would highly recommend one. Plays almost everything and I've had mine for close to 5 years now.

Oof. At least I found Castlevania 3 for $50

You think I don't know what a kusoge is?

Summer Carnival '92 Recca is one of my favorites. You will be amazed at the programming wizardry displayed. Lots of fast moving sprites and background effects.

If I could afford an AVS, I would not chance it with a Chinese bootleg that can damage it over time. I'd recommend getting the ones from krikzz or stoneagegamer instead.

People have been using cheap knock off flash carts from China on all kinds of different consoles for a decade + and I've yet to see ONE reliable account of it damaging a console. Please let this meme die.

Bootlegs won't damage the AVS, those nonsense "voltage differences" aren't even an issue on the EverDrive N8 to begin with even that dingus who was trying to sell his own shit said the N8 was one of the """safe""" models. I would highly recommend thinking for yourself instead of believing what a z-rate e-celeb tells you, doing some actual tests yourself before spouting lies is also wise. I've been using my bootleg N8 for ~5 years with no issues on any of my real hardware. There's not one single piece of evidence to validate the point you're making — Krikzz actually licensed his N8 design to the Chinese, and the clones are clones of that, it's literally all the same shit.

It is a good co-op game which didn't get the same attention like a Ninja Gaiden series or Contra series probably because there was not much articles in Nintendo Power about it. It is cool.

I too use Chinese bootleg flashcarts because of their lower price, but I am just saying with a high value expensive item like the AVS it may be more prudent for OP to get one directly from krikkz or stoneagegamer as the quality control for items from China can vary wildly from the corners they cut when producing in high volumes. I use the same Chinese NES flashcart and it has not damaged my system, but the potential for it to do it is always there. Just saying for OP's peace of mind with an expensive console, a Christmas gift even, may be worth spending the extra.

Nice set up. I've never owned one of those clone consoles. Is there an external switch or a boot menu to let you choose which cartridge slot it uses on power on?

I have the real cart. I have a real Famicom and a grey Family Game clone with composite output. I recently got an Everdrive N8 and the sound isn't correct for Famicom Castlevania 3.

That's a nice collection. Was the first Turtles game ever released for Famicom? I see their Turtles 2 is our Manhattan Project.

It has a 4-way switch, it powers each one separately.

Thanks, it is an old picture to show that most of what I have is black rather than various colours. I do beleive there is another Turtles game for the Famicom but I never got it nor have I played it.
