From the corner folds - and PS1 games have seals. It's Genesis games that are almost impossible to tell, assuming a resealer is familiar with all the "tells" in the shrinkwrap.

30 years. 20 years after manufacture is when I picked up most of my sealed Sega CD games. There were tons of them available for quite cheap. I bought them mostly as curiosities and opened a few (if I heard the CD had come loose inside). I'd open a sealed Genesis or SNES game, because I wouldn't buy something for those systems I didn't want to play.

Makes me laugh when I see EU Saturn and Mega Drive games in VGA tombs when they were never even factory sealed with anything more than a sticker in the first place.

There was also a guy selling poorly resealed Saturn and Dreamcast games on Ebay not long ago and most people fell for it. It's laughable really.

If I were looking for shit to do, I would probably liquidate all of my physical games and after buying flash carts and drive emulators for all the consoles, then put the remaining proceeds into sealed copies of my very favorite games, beginning with the rarest ones. I'm not absolutely sure of it but I think sealed copies will appreciate more than just complete copies though if anyone has been comparing those markets I'd be interested to hear how they've developed.

I don't collect, I just happen to to have kept a lot of the stuff from bargain bins. Once in a while, some games I just haven't gotten around to and they remain in their store packaging, or not having the system yet like the PS4pro. PS1 and Saturn games have the pull tab to open the outer wrapping, unless it is a double width case, where it may or may not have one. US Playstation games also have a seal sticker on the top which you have to peel off to open the case properly.
