Future is worthwhile but kinda hollow. Its world is evocative, but the large stretches of the game in deserted areas (the sewers, the skyscraper district, the slums, and tons of run down alleys) make it kind of a creepy game

it's a little bit too large, where it feels like fan made levels for video games where the entire point is how vast it is

also segregating the tagging and cop-evasion into separate segments means the tagging is just running errands. exploration is kind of neat, but there's not enough challenge.

some of the boss battles are kind of creative in how you have to grind to get at their vulnerable spots.

I 100%ed the game so I can't claim I didn't like it.

Are you high? Future is the one that's more of a platformer on wheels. It completely changed the genre of the game from arcadey semi-platformer to full-on 3D platformer with light open world elements.

I love this game. It's got a weird skill system though, and I think that fucks people up most of the time. It kinda has a low-skill ceiling, but is really fucken hard to just get the basics & flow down. That's definitely what fucks most people up when you hear them bitching about clunkiness.

The style and setting is amongst my favourite of any game. There's nothing like getting chased by military choppers while on rollerblades for doing nothing more than putting paint on a wall :D

Pretty much. It's kind of a game you need to play for a decent length of time to understand why it's so beloved. When I was a kid, I didn't care for the game, the movement felt clunky, but the aesthetics and music were great. Later on when I started getting better at the game I liked it a whole lot more. Games getting better after you beat them once or twice seems counterintuitive but I honestly think that's how JSR works. Future is easier to understand, so to speak.
