I've come to appreciate NES tetris more and CWTC is a great event, but classic tetris has to be the dullest from a spectator perspective since the players don't interact at all. Vs tetris with a $10,000 prizepool would be so much cooler

Puyo is probably objectively better, but I fucking love Taisen Puzzle Dama. It even has TokiMemo and Azumanga Daioh versions.

Panel de pon is the peak of the genre and I've never found anything as good. Fun, combo oriented competitive focus like puyo, but with a much faster pace and the dynamic, reactionary aspect of being able to create combos as matches happen. You're not left to just watch for 15 seconds while your massive combo resolves like in puyo, your activively setting up and compounding matches while combos happen. I just enjoy it so much more than puyo

My favourites are Dr. Mario and especially Panel de Pon (or Tetris Attack).
But Picture related is a game that I started playing recently and I really enjoy it. It's a game that never got released because it failed the location test.
But I would recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle games like Tetris to at least give it a try.

Nyet 3. It's Tetris meets gambling. You basically buy levels and win money hthat you can use to buy extra levels, saves, the ability to see up to five pieces in the future and other power ups
