This preview pic kinda suggests Red is meant to be a girl. It's the only Japanese source that says anything about Red's gender. In US version Red is explicitly a girl.

i wish i had some friends to bounce ideas off of and make kick ass games. /vr/ should give game design a go. people playing these old games should be knowledgeable enough to critique game design and home in on something fun, or come up with something they've wanted to do but never have seen in a game. with a good design document in hand, implementation is actually pretty straight-forward.

we could decide a genre based on a strawpoll, which should correlate with enthusiasm and chance of success. Treasure as a company just wanted to make games they found fun, and they often took genres and refined mechanics, variety, and challenge.
