Can someone grab the titlescreen that was from a few theads back? I should be able to get all the enemies in tomorrow and fix the movement the day after that, so if we get a titlescreen and a song to go with it we can finish this up.
Don't forget, we have a lot of space for voice lines when you die, so if you want to contribute, record a 1-2 second clip and I'll put it in!

Got almost all the enemies in so now the game feels a little less empty. Took longer than I expected, so getting the movement working might take longer than I estimated. I'll see, though.

Not exactly, I mean the logical endpoint of that would be for it to just print LOL DONGS and crash (preferably also exploiting emulator bugs to crash them too.) It's a satire of all the nonsensical abstract shape with a stupid name platformers the speccy had, and a project like this inevitably becomes a homage of sorts to them as well, because the people attracted to work on it are nostalgic for them.

did you miss the whole point of zniggy? it wasn't even needed to plan out some cruel gamebreaking rules, you just don't brush up the controls and the game becomes hard and much more challenging, just like zniggy should be

I really like how the tape comes in a fancy little case. I'd imagine Zniggy would come in a standard jewel case, can't spend too much on production!

I've changed up the movement to better fit other spectrum games, so the jump arc is a little longer and less speedy. You still move really fast and have air control, because I'm pretty sure a lot of gems would be unobtainable otherwise. Collision should be fixed (except you can get your head in the ceiling in some spots). If you manage to clip through terrain in a malign way, let me know.
You also die to spikes now.
All that's left is music, and the final room. Let me know now if any gems can't be reached.

There's a .tap file on the github https://github.com/Tamamoball/Zniggy
You need a zx spectrum emulator to run it, the one I'm using is fuse, which you can find here
http://fuse-emulator.sourceforge.net/
You should be able to start the emulator and drag the .tap file on it to get it to run.
