Not even that, I have Nintendo Online and that shit sold out instantly and I never got one. I hope they restock, the SNES controller is my favorite of all time and having an official modern Nintendo one would be so nice.

is it even possible to make a switch account and sign up for the online membership without the switch console?

Haven't Nintendo been accused of only stocking limited supplies to purposely build up hype since the 80's?

Sega did the same thing with their bullshit online service and their original USB saturn controller reissue.
It was cheaper to buy a mayflash adapter and import a new in box original saturn controller from Japan than to get the official usb controller through official channels.

it's cheaper to get a SNES Classic controller ($9.99 from Nintendo customer service tell them your dog ate yours) and either get a raphnet adapter to use it wired, or an 8shitdo wireless modkit (the modkits aren't shit, don't suffer from dpad problems, all they do is make your controller wireless, it feels and behaves the same)

What's the point? SNES controller is the progenitor of modern controller layouts, but it's nothing special in this day and age.
The only "throwback" controller I'd spend money on would be something designed after the saturn controller, due to it being the best 2D gaming pad of all time, having six face buttons, that god-tier d-pad, and so on.
