wasn't talking about the webm compression specifically. It also wouldn't really matted if it was a better quality video, you can't capture a real CRT image on camera, you have to see it IRL. It's not digital image.

Why are white people so obsessed with their food porn styled pictures of video games? More specifically, their obsession for "subtly" showing off their pricey gizmos, fancy cameras, minimalist decor, and pretentious taste? I'm not saying this in an "ayo wypipo be like mayo :cryingemoji:" way, you most certainly won't see blacks or hispanics ever doing this, but I've never seen asians or any other ethnic group do this shit, not even Jews who pride themselves on not being white but just merely "looking white". Let me try to explain on a level that a simpleton like you can understand. When your screen has a higher resolution, there are more pixels. These are the little squares that make up an image. More pixels means more accuracy for a crosshair. Instead of having less pixels for the center of the crosshair to react to and affect, there are more pixels.

To be honest, people thinking they're "triggering" anyone just come off as sour grapes.
Emulating on a cheap laptop? Anyone can do it.
Playing on real hardware with a corresponding SD display? It actually triggers people like you.
Have in mind, there are non-CRT SD displays.
CRTs are ideal because it's what developers used back then, but plasma 4:3 screens that can output SD image are much better than stretching an SD image on a regular LCD screen.

Am I the only radical centrist on this board? I'll fully admit a CRT and original hardware is the way to go. But there's usability, availability and price issues that prevent everyone from going that route. Especially the availability factor nowadays thanks to CRTrannies.
But let's not deny that the shaders for RetroArch are pretty damn accurate. Have you all seen that other thread where the anon is showing off the NEC XM29 preset for RetroArch? Shit's amazing. I've spent hours playing with shaders in RetroAutist and it's remarkable how close they come to the real thing. Some can emulate a high-end CRT, or you can go for a shitty Kmart Magnavox look or whatever you want. People (mainly elitist nerds) hear "CRT shader" and they think of some shitty scanline filter in an emulator from a decade ago without realizing how advanced they've become.

You can concede that CRTs are the most optimal display device while also admitting that RA's shaders are incredibly accurate. Only faggots deal in absolutes.

>> No.5911150

I'm more on the side that prefers SD, 4:3 output to be displayed by SD, 4:3 display.
CRT is optimal for me (not really a fan of PVMs, I just have 2 decent consumer Trinitron ones and I'm game). I would be fine with a plasma 4:3 SD monitor too, though. In fact I'd like to try Dreamcast on those.
I use my HD TV for HD games.
