Apparently this game doesn't work in any emulator? I'm in PAL shitland so I can't even play it on real hardware.

According to the emulation specialists in /vr/, mednafen works for 100% of the games. 100%!
So you're either lying, or this game isn't part of the 100% of games (that matter to me). Since I've never heard of this game, then it doesn't matter to me, and mednafen is still the king, working on 100% of the games.

1% of the PSX library is unable to be emulated. Clearly this means I better go out and buy an overpriced meme CRT, and some overpriced le hidden gems so I can then tell people online that I play games they've never heard of.

I tried playing it a while ago on epsxe and it run with a few problems, such as the sound effects not playing, but it was payable.

Funny thing this game won't run on a PS2 at all.

It's one of the few games that doesn't work on a legit PS2 either. It just slipped through the gaps somehow. You can use the emulator called "PSX" to get it working. Pretty fun game.

Wait, what do you mean you can't play it on real hardware because you're PAL? I bought it in the UK as a kid. Still have it.

Nice to see someone posting this. As mentioned by others, it didn't work on the PS2, either.

I had a long demo of this game on a demo disc and my friend and I played it to death, but we could never find the full game. This was in a small town in England and of course was before Amazon took off, so if we couldn't find a game in the local shops we assumed it was unattainable.

A few years later my friend found a copy somewhere and we were so excited to finally play the full game and eagerly went to play it. By then we both had PS2s and of course due to the supposed backward compatibility, we hadn't keep our PS1s.

At first we assumed it was a faulty disc. When we got to the menu screen it was glitched out and the game was totally unplayable. Only later on did we realise what the real problem was.

Yeah it's a clunky Zelda clone, but it's a very nostaligiac feeling game and I loved the music.

It works fine. You just have to use P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.18 for grpahics and Dsound 1.9 for sound. Takes about 1 minute to set up. Collectorfags lose again.

Basically a the bottom three games in that pic, including Monkey Hero, are so poorly programmed that they depend on CD read taking a certain amount of time. If they read too slow or too fast, the data isn't there (NULL or garbage data) they can crash on real hardware, too.

Yeah I checked that out. So I guess it really relies on jank timing related stuff like the other games that don't work which Mednafen can't do because it emulates it like it's always working normally. Though it did say that the dev can just change a number in the code but it could break other games so they won't. And really, is Monkey Hero honestly worth playing?
