>Dude just hit each of these guys with 24 sword swings at a time xD
>oh be careful you don't leave the room accidentally resetting the entire fight.

pretty sure you don't fight these guys until you get the bow, and it's not in such a confined room with water in it. wtf?

That's Parallel Worlds, a romhack.

>> No.5891656

Everyone says it's brutally hard and requires expert level skill, what were you expecting?

It's not that it's difficult, it's that it's entirely unrewarding. I strongly dislike it.

>> No.5891682

>>5891658
The problem with 99% of "difficult" ROMhacks is they're made with these in mind.

>> No.5891709

It's a shame there's no quality ROM hacks of ALttP like Super Metroid.

>> No.5891729

>>5891656
It's not really that hard, it's just really bullshit a lot of the time. The boss in OP's pic isn't even particularly difficult, it just takes like 10 minutes because the hack gave them 5 times as much HP as they originally had. Same with all the other Armos fights in the game.

>> No.5891730

>>5891682
I don't think Parallel Worlds was. It was built for people who are eepecially good at the game. IIRC bomb jumping is required, right?

Nope, it was build for people who play on Zsnes with speedhacks and save states (seriously, if you manage to get either version of PW work on real hardware, the game ban BARELY run sometimes due to the amount of enemies)

>> No.5892248

Parallel Worlds is a shitty hack, and I don't get why people love it so much.
Yeah, it's technically impressive, but as a GAME it's a goddamn mess.

It's pretty much all Zelda 3 fans who wanted more Zelda 3 got. So many other hacks were started and this is really the only one that saw a release. Unless I'm missing any new hacks.

>> No.5892327

>>5892251
The Parallel Worlds guys did a Conker zelda 3 hack that was better than PW.

>> No.5892580

There are spots that are safe to be in from getting hit when they circle around and attacking them mid charging down at you or before they begin to circle again locks all the other ones in place. Its not hard just tedious from the amount of health. Newer versions lower the health and fix the door problem.

One day you will understand why accuracy is important, or you'll just remain a retard. Either way, you're still wrong.

I've never played a hack that was better than the original, but if i had to name one that i actually enjoyed (and finished), it would be Hyper Metroid. It had the usual issue with the maps and areas being too big like most SM romhacks have, but it was actually reasonably challenging without being impossible or requiring advanced tricks, changed up the order of things too and has a damn good escape sequence. Pointless edginess was added to the plot, but it was easily ignoble. Way more fun that i was expecting.

Can't say i've found a good one for ALttP yet. I wanted to like parallel worlds so bad. I loved the map and custom designs on everything, but the difficulty was such a turn off.

>> No.5893464

>>5893460
god the graphics in this game were so much better than any other snes game ever made

>> No.5893473

>>5893464
Not really. Many of the graphics were rather plain (to be fair, much of it was to match NES brinstar) and the art style varied.

>>5892248
>shitty game
>>5892580

>I wanted to like it

This is exactly how I felt playing this game. I made it to the dark world and couldn't beat the first dungeon because I either died on my way to it or died after entering it and if you died outside of a dungeon room then you spawned back at the starting point on the map and had to travel all the way back. It just wasn't fun. If you didn't die from two hits of a bird outside your house and if enemies weren't damage sponges then maybe it would be good.

>Metroid Hacks
I was a really big fan of Super Metroid Zero Mission. There were only two points where I had no idea what to do and I was able to get around the first issue by infinitely bomb jumping and the second road block required me finding a youtube guide video and it was something really dumb I would have never figured out. If you are good at wall jumping and bomb jumping (it says they aren't required to beat the game) then it has a great amount of challenge. It felt like I was playing Metroid for the first time as a kid again and I barely made it out of the final room to my spaceship with sweat pouring down my face. Very rewarding game.

Even LttP experts think it's a terrible romhack. It's deliberately anti-fun.

>> No.5895172

>>5893460
Haven't played Hyper Metroid but I thought Project Base was really good despite not liking most romhacks. The general layout of vanilla SM is the same but there are added areas for shortcuts and I really like a lot of the gameplay changes it makes. It was pretty refreshing.
