Do you ever feel worried when buying older games/systems on ebay? There are so many bootlegs out there of bad quality, how do you know you're really buying what you think you are?

If it worries you check the seller’s history. You should be able to tell the difference between someone selling their own collection or a scammer listing 100 games at the same price with no photos

Learn to recognize bootlegs. It's usually obvious from the pictures, and if you get it and it turns out to be fake, get a refund. eBay always sides with the buyer.

Systems, no. At this point, the only thing I don't have that would possibly be a bootleg is a consolized MVS. 3rd party controllers flood enough of the market that I doubt there's much bootlegging that's also branded.

Everything else is niche enough that it's not worth the effort. And if it works, I probably won't care either way.

I don't mind because sellers used to be able to fuck buyers pretty regularly if they felt like it but at the same time I only use it as a buyer now instead of as a buyer and a seller.
