Mario Picross 2, it's peak comfy puzzle game. I've been playing it every day on my breaks at work. The first is good also, but I feel 2 is a bit better. I've fully solved the puzzles on 1 and about 55% on 2.

GBC is such a comfy and good looking system, it's too bad retards rip the screen out and put in undersized China lcds.

OP you should go for the glass cover if your plastic one is scuffed up, it makes a big difference and is non destructive/reversible.

The SP is the best unmodded option for playing real Game Boy cartridges, but if you're not using cartridges I think the 3DS is the best emulation option.
Pic related is my backlit pocket's LCD. I recommend people don't do this mod since it's easy to botch, unlike buying a GBColor LCD like >>5887510 did. If you really want a backlit GBP and you don't already own solder supplies and a GBP, it will probably be cheaper to buy one pre-modded from some dog fucker on reddit.

I got it pretty cheap because of the defect. Not sure how I would go about restoring the O to HELL KITTY or if I even feel the desire. I'm not sure of the legitimacy of this statement but according to https://consolevariations.com/variation/console/gameboy-color-hello-kitty-special-edition this model was a special 2008 release of the console and only 2000 were made to begin with so I'm a little protective of it. Kept the original LCD so that I can always revert it back if I ever wanted to sell, but I love it so I doubt I ever will.

The aspect ratio is accurate, but the screen is very slightly smaller than the oem screen so it's not exactly the same. Here's what it looks like before applying the new lens. All the backlit gbc screens are like this, which is why lenses with slightly thicker borders are widely available.

If you want a GBC everdrive, the main reason you would do it is for Pokemon romhacks (which is in a very good place since there's disassemblies of the Pokemon games), or just having multiple versions of Pokemon without shelling out the cash for the games (no compatibility with Stadium but you can still trade with official games and what not). There's also translations or decensor patches if you're into those, like Pokemon TCG 2, or the GBC version of Donkey Kong Land 3, or uncensored Link's Awakening. If those, and the desire to play on real hardware with (some) compatibility to things like Game Boy Printer, there you go.

I don't know the exact specs, but it looks pixil perfect. The only difference I've come across is the size. There is another chinese mod sold on taobao that supposedly has problems. I've been playing the thing daily and have had nothing at all to complain about. Actually now I think about it, adjusting the screen's brightness to anything other than full brightness or off creates a whining noise in headphones. That's the worst of it though, it's a quality mod.

Is it just me or do some Atomic Purples look more purple than they look in real life?

Atomic purple is a very muted purple IRL because of the colors of the board inside, it only looks P U R P L E in certain lightings and at certain angles. I really like it.
