I never played it, but I think it's unfortunate that it basically ended Romero's career. From what I've read, though, his team at Ion Storm acted like rock stars and really mishandled their time.

I find it amazing how often the sound is completely divorced from the quality of the rest of the game (usually in the positive direction). Good games only rarely have shit sound, but shit games often have some awesome soundtracks. I like to think the musician just sequesters himself away from the shit, and reminds himself that he's putting this on his resume...
