Dungeon Master, Eye Of The Beholder, Lands Of Lore, Ultima Underworld 1&2, Wizardry series, Ishtar series, Megami Tensei, and much more.

I'm really digging Wizardry IV, but that's a game for masochists

There are four King's Field games for PSX, and they're all really fun. Shadow Tower is a bit more soulslike, more retro fromsoft goodness. Both series have sequels on the PS2, but I haven't played them yet.

also, I cannot recommend The Binding of Isaac highly enough, but that's not /vr/

just joshin' fellas i've never played megaten, yall mentioned something about first person crawling? that sounds right up my alley. which ones would you guys recommend. are they hard, and are the translations any good? official or fan, doesn't matter.

SMT I, SMT Kyuuyakuu, SMT II, SMT if.... In that order.

Not really. Megami Tensei I & II have some bullshit moments but SMT I and II are on the easy side, specially I. Of courrse, if you go in blind you'll probably have an harder time with them.

Yes. When patching SMT I look for the "upgrade" patch, that fixes the non official translation's bugs. Well, if you have an older Apple phone you can just pirate the only official translation by Atlus for SMT I.
Also, check out /smtg/'s pastebin for help/download links. We're cool fellows. Most of the time.
