Has anybody ever been banged up or detained before?

I did a 2 week stint in a hospital once and couldn't leave and I was amazed that I could literally spend all day reading books but now that I'm out it's nearly impossible.

I have mulled the conditions of this thread for the past few hours. I think I have come to my final decision:

I think this is a great mix of content, and I think within 8-10 years I will have gone totally insane, but I think that is inevitable no matter your system and game choice.

It's an intresting question but I feel it'd be better for /v/ or something given you would almost certainly want games with a *lot* of replayability and randomization.

You definitely don't want an RPG in a situation like this. With relative focus you can complete any JRPG in the world in a couple of weeks, maybe stretching that out to a couple of months if you're going for fullcomp in some insane game. You would run out of fun LONG before thirty years is up. If you go for an RPG, go for something like Nethack with insane replayability and solid core gameplay.

Personally I think I would go for games with an enormous skill ceiling like MMX and get replayability out of trying to speedrun them.

Hmmmmmmmmm my Wii with Namco Classics, the Zelda Collection, and Rebel Strike. All the ROMs on board it don't count as my 3 physical games too.

Or if not retro enough, an NES (that's been capped) with a cart that has all the games on it. I don't trust a clone nes to last 30 years, but a recapped and well cared for original might last. Also need 2nd controller for codes and cheats.

But if forced to take a retro console and no Everdrive or the like, I'd take an N64 with Ocarina of Time (that game has lots of possibilities to exhaust and it's open world would be welcome to a prisoner), Shadows of the Empire (getting that perfected would take ages) , and Turok Dinosaur Hunter.
