What cabinet is most aesthetic to serve as a multicade?

>> No.5839303

I've been considering building something from scratch to fit into the corner of a room. Conveniently enough, I wouldn't have to worry about the sides.

There aren't really a lot of existing cabinets with sides angled at 90 degrees to one another lol. Form follows function.

The logistics of a design like that just don't add up. By the time he had enough space for his screen and his control panel and for two people to stand beside each other he'd be as far from the wall as he would be with just a slim rectangular cab up against one wall and he's talking about not even putting sides on it. What he's describing is literally a shelf or a table

This art is pretty sweet since I was thinking about doing GnG cabinets, even though it's based on the NES art not the arcade. I like the idea of something similar to but not identical to original art on a cabinet that's also similar but not identical.

I wonder if a modded Arcade 1up cabinet is worth it, as well as how good the stick and buttons are.
$250 doesn't seem like a bad price if it's at least of decent quality.

A Russian shill with no life who was tripfagging on /vr/ for years prior. He forgot to drop his trip before /pol/posting one day and the mods nuked it for good. That should have been the last we saw of him, but unfortunately he has access to a surprisingly wide network of proxies that have yet to be blacklisted.

Candy cabs look too Japanese. I actually already have the bartop style cabs they're "cubic". I'm just considering what art to replicate/reference and exactly how far I want to go with it. There's going to be at least 4, perhaps 6. Should they all follow a theme? Should they all have fighting game style controller layouts (they're pre-cut for it) or should I put in blanks or an acrylic overlay to more closely resemble the reference cabinet? Or are just using background color buttons enough like in the tempest one I posted? Just doing some conceptualizing really.

Candy cabs are really more functional and efficient than aesthetic. They don't even have side art. On the other hand, they're the only cabinet you can put Pachinko Sexy Reaction in.

or do what I did, and get an old xp machine, and old radeon card, an rgb to component converter, and an old crt and just connect that together and run crtemudriver and groovymame. Its kind of a bitch to setup but the results are pretty amazing, and using this fightstick with it while sitting on the couch is quite nice.

Wow no. That is absolutely not true when it comes to buttons. There is an argument to be made that the design of the arcade STICK is fundamentally flawed but when it comes to buttons, arcade sticks can't be beat. The cabinets I'm customizing already have stick+8 in them though.

As I said before in a post that was randomly pruned for no rational reason, candy cabs are efficient not aesthetic - or only in an austere kind of way.

>>5851698
Well cubic is what I have. What I was really pondering then was whether it sounds bother me if I used artwork from say a Taito game on a cubic cabinet. I guess not, if only because that cubic shape was so standardized. If the cabs were say "contender" shaped, I would HAVE to put Nintendo art on them.
