I'm really sorry if this isn't the place to ask for help on this, but I thought maybe you guys could give me a hand. I got my Dreamcast hooked up with VGA cables into my HDTV's RGB/PC VGA and as you see, the colors are just completely fucked. I've had this hooked up to two different monitors with these VGA cables and they work just perfectly fine, it's only on this TV that there's issues. Anything I can do to get this working properly through my TV's RGB/VGA? TV model is a Vizio SV420M for reference. Thanks a ton guys, again, sorry if this doesn't belong in this board.

Try to see if there’s an YUV mode

Thank you for the reply! Checking my TV's settings and not seeing anything for YUV mode. I can adjust the RGB colors but it doesn't help with the color issue.

Looks like your red pin isn't connecting. Put a single drop of alcohol in the hole and plug/unplug a few times

This is a good suggestion on confirming its a problem with the TV.

To the TV? I've had a laptop hooked up to the VGA port just fine, no issues.

>>5813907
I'll try this then! Hopefully it might help with the issue.

If the port worked for the laptop it should work for the dreamcast. Are you using the same vga cable?

I'm using the same RGB input on the tv, and using those Tomee VGA cables. The Dreamcast VGA cables work just fine on the two monitors I tested and even on a small tv I tested that has a VGA input.

Oh the kind where the adapter is built into the cable. It's possible that the pins are a little out of spec to make contact in your TV but still enough to make contact in your monitors

That's actually something I hadn't considered before. I'll still try the alcohol suggestion listed earlier, but this could very well be the case. Am I shit out of luck with these cables and using them on my HDTV if this is the case then?

No, you could try a quality VGA extension cable that might have tighter female ends and more in-spec male ends.

No, you could try a quality VGA extension cable that might have tighter female ends and more in-spec male ends. Or a KBM switch for when you someday add a retro PC, or just because they're cheap because there's so little demand for them so they're cheap.

I'll try and shop around then for a good quality extension cord then and KVM switches. Thank you!

Good luck. You can usually get away with plugging quality things into cheap things but when you try to get cheap+cheap to work together is often a problem.

you've got an issue with your TV VGA port. It seems that a (female) pin is broken or have a too low resistance

stop using shitty bootleg chinese VGA boxes, goy

Just can't stop perving can you

Well it's not that much of an issue for me since my male end is way above spec

So you're a white dude with the ass of a black woman? I guess there's some faggots who would appreciate that.

It's always the Dreamcast-threads which end up in sodomy.
