I'd actually say Gun Star Heroes has better action. It's scrappier, since you aren't afraid of every single bullet.

I love the genre and I like Treasure, but I hate Gunstar Heroes. The only good parts are that transforming boss (seven force?) and the shooter section. As much as I like the idea of the game and as much as I'd like to add another great Genesis action game to my collection, every time I pick it up it feels like a sloppy mess and would rather be playing something else.

Kek, that's the DS game cover, but I'll give u a pass.
I'm assuming if you posted Bangai-O you might be interested in checking Treasure's other forte on the N64, Sin & Punishment. crazy on-rails shooter, honestly has turned into one of my favorite game on the console now. There's also a story, but you can skip the cut scenes. If you're looking for a great game, definitely check that out.
