That's different option, intended for multiplayer
"allow autoaim" "on" has no bearing on anything.
It just allows players to use it or NOT use it on player's discretion, for every player in a game.
if you have it on "on" and disabled it in player settings you will have autoaim disabled for YOU personally. If you are playing multiplayer, someone else might decide and play with AA on.

If you turn it to "off" however, then no one would be allowed to use autoaim, and their personal settings will be ignored.

Note that weapons with +NOAUTOAIM flag will never autoaim regardless of settings.

It's average. They fixed some of the sound quality issues, and it does look "decent" when you turn on the fancier graphics as they actually normal-mapped textures for more advanced lighting, but it's still kind of just "there" and the new episode is neat but not exactly stellar. The re-recorded Duke Talk is also just soulless garbage, but you can toggle it off. No expansion packs, and it doesn't have custom map support quite like Megaton Edition did, but looking past all the controversy, the World Tour version is just sort "there", though it's nowhere near the new Doom port levels of shit.

Atomic Edition is just the final version of the original DOS game. Like version 1.3 of Duke.

Megaton Edition came like 18 years later. Is in a proper 3D renderer I think, proper support for newer OS and has a rewind feature when you die. It's just a more modern port done by Devolver Digital.

His MAIN complaint is that supposedly Hugo said that you can ONLY kill the bigger classes of demons with a glory kill, as in when they glow, you literally cannot kill them unless you glory kill them, which is obviously not fucking true. Anyone who has watched more than 10 min of footage should know it works the same as it did in 2016. During the demonstration Hugo showed off how you can launch a grenade into a cacodemons mouth to stun it and open it up for a glory kill. This plays a humorous animation of the cacodemons swallowing the grenade and it exploding inside him. After glory killing the cacodemon, Hugo says, "This isn't just for show, its tuned so you have to do this." which is obviously referring to launching grendades into cacodemons and shit like that. As in the game is tuned so you have to take advantage of monsters unique weaknesses. It's not perfect, but it's pretty damn cool and ambitious.
Good voice acting, decent story and writing, some VERY nice hand drawn sprites and textures (if you go through some of them frame by frame, they're impressively consistent and clean, no color bleeding or crude hacks, the latter which you can spot in some of Doom's sprites), along with some ok pre-rendered 3D ones making up mechanical enemies and your weapons, speaking of which the arsenal is pretty interesting. Your bread and butter for a lot of the game will be an assault rifle and a mini rocket launcher, the rockets aren't too strong, but you get lots of them and can fire them fast.
Has some decent humor too, and you can tell the devs were big nerds who loved Star-Trek. The world and setting is neat and interesting as hell.

If I'm going to criticize it for something, it's that some parts of the game are way too short, while others are way too long, there's also a sort of stealth system, but it's VERY halfbaked and is barely worth bothering with.

Are the guns actually bad? They don't seem any worse to me than the other games' weapons. The rocket launcher is weak because it's meant to be used more as an AoE minigun rather than a tactical thing. If you really want more Prey, then you'll like it. But at the time it came out I already had my filling of Prey, having played it through 3 times with perk-less, full tech and full-Typhoon builds.
It has 4 or so new areas and you HAVE to through it all at least 3 times with each of the 5 character (you need at least 2 playthroughs to unlock all characters and all ways of escape, and then final play to make right characters escape the right way).
The randomization aspect is not as big as I was hoping to - there are hazard spots across the levels and it's quite easy to recognize what kind of hazard may appear at which spot, and they are relatively easy to avoid/circumvent so they have much less bearing on the playthrough than trailers may make you believe.
All in all you'll have to run through all 4 areas ~15 times on the OPTIMAL playthrough and at that point I was bored out of my fucking mind.

The problem I have with a lot of user maps for Doom is that they tend to be too straightforward to make them memorable.

When you have a complex level that forces you to think more, it sticks in your mind. The main problem with this is the inevitable tedium, which is most people's actual problem with Peterson maps.

TLDR: I like what other people think is tedious when it comes to Doom maps, so Peterson is my favorite of the original Doom development team.

It's that, enemies deal a lot more damage by default than Doom enemies do, and enemy type inconsistency. Imagine if every Imp was a teleporting alien commander, every shotgunner was a buff pigcop that usually takes two shotgun blasts to down, and every chaingunner became capable of jumping around and hunting you down. The mod also adds in enemy variants so suddenly any Piccop may be packing a double-barrel or dual deagles, a random commander might start shooting semi-homing green blasts at me and other shit. It's a really chaotic mod, and if a mapset had a particular vanilla balance that goes out the window
