Probably Garfield: The Search for Pooky

It was, I think, ~2001, so it wasn't retro, but it was some awful, terribly translated
Final Fantasy Tactics clone for the PC called The Holy Sword The Ring. There was no sound or music, the game was totally silent, no explanation for anything in the game, and the translation was absolute balls, the worst I've ever seen in any game by orders of magnitude. A real turd.

not retro but Witcher 2 is a horrid piece of shit because it's more of a movie and not really a game and the areas in the game get smaller with each act and it sucks. I hate myself so much for ever falling for that meme. Because the first Witcher game was not that cutscene-heavy and there weren't shitty QTEs either.

I don't know if it was great as I never beat it, but I agree with the general sentiment. What I played seemed pretty dang fun, was very unique, and looked nice. I never really got the hate, I was expecting something completely broken going off what I had read about it before.

I remember that one time my parents brought home N64's Superman. I had them go back to the store to trade it for another title but it all worked out at the end.

What was funny about it was that a Nintendo 64 game in my shithole of a country cost like a minimum wage at the time so you couldn't afford to make any mistakes. Still my best library to this day.

In fact, the whole soundtrack of the game was neat and actually tried something different by consisting of multiple patterns that got randomly mixed together by the game so while the general layout of the background music would be the same it wouldn't play the same instruments and patterns at always the same moments.

I knew it was terrible before I bought it, but I was a really big Resident Evil fan at the time and it was in a bargain bin. No regrets, I'll get around to playing it again sometime just for laughs.

Someone somewhere found it acceptable to take a 12 year olds money in exchange for this. I hope they had a shitty life.

Almost instant regret after playing it for a few minutes. I still played through it many times, but that was only because I needed to get value out of the one or two games I got per year as a kid. Not the worst game ever made, but would totally have chosen almost anything else.

Fucking tank controls and MUH BEAUTIFUL HAND PAINTED GRAPHICS! I don't even care about the edge. The only good thing about this game was that it had a fucking automatic shotgun. Now that was a cool weapon.

Bubsy 3D, although I knew what I was in for. I went into Deus Ex Invisible War blind and did not enjoy myself.
