Is pol where I should go if I like Rush Limbaugh or if I dislike Rush Limbaugh? Because I choose whichever one bothers you the most.

Imagine being a sensitive faggot that asking about a reference to a conservative figure in a game incites screeches of "go back to /pol/!"

You resetera homos don't belong anywhere near this website and even you'd be happier if you just fucked off.

My parents were hardcore conservatives in the 90's. They took me on Vacation one time and in the elevator I was singing "womb to the tomb" (this silly song that Rush Limbaugh had on his show) and this couple in the elevator chatted us up, it was a really 90's experience. I miss old Rush, back when he was on Oxy's. Now he's just like everyone else, I'm not even a conservative per-say, but I loved listening to his batshit rants.

Remember when Tom Daschle was a thing and Rush would do that little bumper bit, "Now it's time for... Toooooommm DASCHLE!"? I don't remember anything about Tom Daschle except for that bit. Ahh, the mid 90s.

It hurts thinking about how good things were back then. I miss it a lot. Times have changed and things aren't getting better. Wish we could at least get some good videogames now. The worst part, we can't ever go back.

When's the Myst TV show coming out?

>> No.5750279

>hardcore fans write up movie treatment for Myst since Cyan asked them to
>eventually Cyan just dumps them and lets hollywood execs rewrite entire script
>it eventually dies
>legendary buys up the rights to do tv series
>nothing happens
>village roadshow buys up the rights to do movies and tv series
I wanna say it will happen, but the track record isn't good.

Oh Lord God Almighty. Please don't let this happen. Holy shit, this will be terrible. How could you possibly make a TV series out of Myst, it would be so bad.

It's been something that they've tried to do since 2002. The latest development is that Hulu is producing it with Village Roadshow pictures.

You forgot that even before that the Sci-Fi channel (now SyFy) was working on a show in 2002.

There is no possible way to get the adventure and puzzles of Myst into a non-interactive medium. I don't know what dumb ass Hollywood idiot thought they could make a successful show out of Myst.

I think it has more to do with the lore of the games than trying to capture the experience of playing them.

>> No.5750393

The lore isn't what made the games successful. You might as well make a live action Sudoku film.

Didn't they once have a Maniac Mansion TV show?

Probably one who just looked at a list of bestselling games and figured they would cash in on some nostalgia. The books sold somewhat well, better than they deserved at any rate. Obviously the subject matter of the show's only going to have the most tangential relationship with mechanical puzzles. Probably going to focus on exploring "enigmas", having "complex" antagonists and scenery porn. Probably going to lead up to a really disappointing final episode, you know how that goes.
