Yeah. The appearance of Elize was a nice surprise, as I played SF3 before that.

WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH SHINING FORCE?!

You must be thinking of the Tony Taka Shining games.

Whats the best translation to play Holy Ark with, Wokring Designs or the European verison?

The Shining series never did have a tight setting.

there's no working designs translation. You're thinking of shining wisdom.

Galm and Julian also appear in Holy Ark.
Actually, the events in this game are what motivates Julian to pursuit Galm.
If you notice, Julian's 3rd promotion clothes are the same as Arthur's in Holy Ark.

We must never speak of this again.

Never played it, but Motoaki Takenouchi wrote a godly soundtrack for the game.

So Shining in the Darkness takes place before Shining Force I.
Pyra and other SITD characters are in Timestalkers, as main characters, no less. And Virgil, the main character from Landstalker is in too.
Therefore, the Stalkers series take place in the same world as the Shining series.

Is this correct?

Is that the one with the super edgy main character?

I really enjoy this game... completed it a couple of time, and took my sweet time to find all the pixies (without any guide).

It's a solid game, even though it's kind of a niche... I'd give it a 8/10.

Also, that fucking fighting theme is the best RPG theme for the whole Saturn, you'll get pumped like mad everytime.

>> No.573753

Game has some serious slowdown issues, difficulty spikes, and really clunky menus. I played like 20 hours into it before I couldn't take anymore. The Saturn was really pushing it with this game, so like 90% of the time when you got into a battle, the framerate would shit itself, making battles take SO LONG. And it doesn't help that pretty much every single fucking enemy in the game has some sort of long animation attack that it spams, which just adds more time to the battles, and since the enemies are always really strong, you have to heal your party after every battle, which is a real fucking chore since the menus are so clunky and a bitch to work through. I feel that the game could've been really great if it didn't have slowdown issues like crazy and if there was an easier way to heal your party, but as it was, goddamn it was a huge fucking chore to play.

I haven't played this game in about 11 years, but guess what? This thread is making me want to. I remember it as being a very enjoyable dungeon-crawler, with nice music, as Sonic Team is wont to do.

>> No.583015

This is basically first-person Golden Sun by the same developers.

>> No.584807

>>582729
It's not from Sonic Team. Sonic Software Planning, who did a lot of the Shining stuff, is a completely unrelated group with a misleading name.

>> No.587230

>>582729
camelot. not sonic team. Sonic software planning who later became camelot after the release of this game even.
