Science fiction RPG's or JRPG's. There are so few. Playing Worlds of Ultima II: Martian Dreams right now. Any suggestions?

>> No.5720438

the latter might & magic and wizardry games have sci-fi elements. there a lots of sci-fi jrpgs such as star ocean, lagrange point, cyber knight, metal max...

Played most of the JRPG's you mentioned. Which M&M and Wizardry games in particular anon? And thank you in advance!

Thanks! I would mention Xenogears, but I understand its not well liked save by a few. Played all the Phantasy Stars and they seem the most traditional to a sci-fi space opera.

>>5720443

nice. if you like cyberpunk try shadowrun, and if you like mechs try the front mission srpg series. there's also better-known ones like system shock and star control 2, but they're not turn-based...

Anon, the very first M&M game is about encountering a crashed spaceship from the alien police who are after an escaped convict. The second game is about figuring out the world you are on is a high-tech biodome, and the villain is attempting to crash it into a star. You chase after him on an escape shuttle to the third game.

like ... all of them
MnM 6 has robots, supercomputers giving out advice, blasters and so on in the late game.

also Wizardry 8 is much more polished compared to Wizardry 7 and the games starts with your team on a space shuttle

Not _exactly_ an RPG, but I fucking love Starflight

One hell of an adventure free roaming across a galaxy, with loads of star & planets to visit, alien races to meet, and a pretty cool story to follow

All M&Ms in reality but it’s most noticeable in M&M3 and onward.

Genesis version was almost unbeatable unless you use walkthroughs, because Endurium/ fuel is burned up a lot faster compared to the original PC version, and there is an event that will bump up the cost of Endurium.

In any case, Star Control 2 improved on everything Starflight was about.

I would recommend Deus Ex, Fallout, System Shock 2 (SS1 too, but that isn't really an RPG), Wasteland and Shadowrun, but you have probably heard about these already.
But there's also AD&D Spelljammer: Pirates of Realmspace.
