How did you get it running on a modern Computer/OS?

All I get on my dual monitor set up is a lower resolution and a black small window in the corner of the second monitor.

I managed to get it running quite quickly and have been playing it ever since.
However there's one game I haven't been able to get running on modern systems. And that's Requiem Avenging Angel
How the fuck do you get it working? Patch 2 gives me an installer that doesn't work and Patch 3 does absolutely nothing. When I open the game it goes into a black screen with the blue circle and then stops and becomes fully black. Then when I alt-tab my entire display becomes dark shit orange coloured.

Anyone able to help? Did I install the right patches?
