I've been playing through Baldur's Gate 1 on my CRT which looks great at 640x480 but the other Infinity Engine games offer higher resolutions like 800x600 or 1024x768. Is Icewind Dale designed to all be played at 640x480 or is the extra view space worth it? Note that I'm playing on a 15 inch CRT so if the resolution goes too high I'm just looking at ants.

I would say to always go with the highest resolution you can comfortably use on your screen.

I had this exact monitor almost literally 20 years ago as a kid. Why are you torturing yourself like this? The flickering on that cancer tube was crazy.

did it ever occur to you as a kid to increase the refresh rate

>Vertical Refresh Rate 100 Hz
So it comfortably does 1024x768@85Hz, and 800x600@100Hz. You're the kind of retard who does pic related.

Oh yeah, I distinctly remember fucking with GPU drivers and editing their INI's by hand to manually remove all the 60 Hz resolutions because the flickering was full on retarded on those. So many games just defaulted to 60 Hz if those resolutions were available in the drivers, so that was a lifehack to do back in the day.

It's a horrible monitor regardless. Was so happy when I got a Sony G220 to replace it.

It's a good monitor for the size.

thinking about doing an icewind dale 1 run, what are really good overhaul mods? anything that can turn it into 3.5 dnd would be pretty cool.

don't know of any overhaul mods but you might as well play IWD2 since that's mostly 3E

Is 1PP supposed be installed before BGT or after?

Download the big world project installer.
Even if you don't want to add the 6 gorillion mods it has the best installation order list that you can find and automatically list dependencies between mods.

I'm already using BWP's hueg pdf to get my list in order, but (in regards to 1PP and BGT) it contradicts some other install orders I'm referencing and the BGT compatibility thread (last updated 2012 though). I was just wringing my hands and wanted another opinion.
You're right, of course. BWP is more recent, authoritative, and autistic. It's safer to bet on it.

You know there's something to be said about a picture containing a monitor probably displaying at 640x480 while said picture of said monitor is at 4032x3024
