I wish I was that lucky. Seems like I can never find complete steals around here. No matter where I go, pawns, thrifts, flea markets, I just can't find good deals.

I stopped giving a shit about flea markets once they started checking ebay prices. That and the ones I went to tried to trick sellers. I remember picking up a FF8 case and checking if it had all the discs just to find only disc 3 and a copy of WCW Mayhem in it.

Part of eBay's pricing is fucking convenience. It's easy to search and find something online. going out and looking for it in your town takes time, money, and effort.

Went to the big car boot in Milton Keynes today. Mainly searching for a GBAsp ags101. No luck. Few games there today. Mostly sports crap. Disappointing trip.

Posted it in the other thread before it died, but got these for $53 (+ $13 on amazon for new chargers, SP didn't have one and the 3DS one was corroded at the end).

About to go to the flea market and some thrift stores today. I've never been to a thrift store before and my flea market, from what I can remember, is really just a collection of small table stores (mostly resellers) but I might find something good. None of that shit opens until 9 so I got a few minutes before I leave.

I lost my copy back when I moved away from home after high school. I just recently won the US boxed Plutonium Pak as well, which is "kind of" hard to find. Not in an expensive way, just genuinely tough to find at this point because 3D Realms almost immediately switched from the Pak to the full on Atomic Edition.

Anyway, feels pretty good. Now I begin saving my money for when a boxed copy of BLOOD pops up.

The comic shop I went to had a copy of DKC3 (gold label) for $15, needless to say I bought it since I have the other two.

Got Crash 2 (and DDR) for £1.50 each at a local charity shop. Perhaps not the best find seeing as Crash 2 was in a case that lacked any identifying material and DDR is common as shit but considering the rarity of retro vidya in the local area I'm far from displeased.

They also had Spyro:YoTD but I didn't buy it because it had no case. Should I go back and buy it?

I found a PS1 (SCPH-9001 model) with 2 memory cards, 2 dualshock controllers, Power and AV cords, and Tomb Raider III for $5 yesterday at the flea market.

The guy selling it was some arab or indian guy. I must have passed his little stand 4-5 times that day. I just figured he was asking too much for it. He had a bunch of other electronics like GPS', car chargers, Ipod cords, mp3 players, cell phones etc.

So as he was packing up, I was walking by and said screw it, and asked him how much. He got all excited and said "OH! Yes, very good game! Came with 2 controller and memory cards, bunch of cords. I want $10, but for you, $5." Hell yeah I'd pay that. I offered him $10 but he kept saying no, only wanted $5.

I've seen the guy there for years and years, and he's always selling random stuff, so it was neat to actually buy something from him for once. Playstation works too, and it's seriously in the best shape and cleanest one I've ever seen.


Also got a teal GBC from another guy with a copy of Zelda Oracle of Ages for $10. Overall, good day.

Upon further research, the earliest ones with the RCA jacks in the back have the best audio quality.

And to be honest, There's no real point. I just collect consoles, so it's neat to have the different variations. My SCPH-1001 model is the one I play my games on, mainly because of the RCA jacks being convenient. Other than that, like I said, I collect consoles and it's just one more that I didn't have.

I was poring over this issue recently myself; turns out the official Nintendo s-video cable for the Gamecube (backwards compatible with SNES/N64) was only released in America through Nintendo's online shop, and was discontinued a few years ago at the latest (around 2008 I guess?). As such, you are incredibly unlikely to find one in the wild.

However, they were readily available since the SNES days in Japan, so importing is always an option. It's expensive, but it's always there.

Your other option for a high-quality s-video cable is to track down a Monster Cable Gamecube s-video cable, but of course, since it's by Monster, and discontinued, it's generally just as pricey as importing the Nintendo cable from Japan. But you have a higher chance of finding it in the wild, since it was available in store domestically.

Otherwise, you're stuck with the cheapies.

The n64 kinda sucks, but it had an expansion pack, so i was able to switch that with the jumper pack i already had in my n64.

MediEvil: Resurrection for €5 and Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles (still sealed) for €15

Not in the picture a copy of Max Payne 2 I got for €0,50 cents, that same seller also had a Pearl White Gamecube that was only used once or twice since he preferred the XBOX.

Said he'd sell it for €20,- went to the ATM to get the money and when I went back to his stand it was already sold. Should have told him to keep it back for me. Oh well.

The only good buys at goodwill I've ever seen are books. I got several copies of John Peel's diadem books for about a buck at a time when they were selling for ~$40 a piece due to being out of print.

I'm still convinced that everyone being so interested in getting a hold of them to resell them is why he started writing more of them.

Mild Tangent, but this is the only thread i can find on /vr/ that seems to have people in it who buy retro. I started hoarding Sega stuff about 10 years ago, and im now leaving the country so have to flog it all. Is it actually worth spending the time to try sell things, or are the only buyers out there just looking for bargins so ill get next to nothing for them?

Advice please. I saw this game at Goodwill not really knowing the value of it. They wanted 3 dollars for it and reasonable price seems to be 9 dollars for it CiB. When I checked it out the condition was basically perfect with some minor ware since it was used. Should I pick it up or jut skip it altogether?

To be honest I don't really want it myself but maybe it's better than it looks? The screenshots on that back didn't impress me so what do you think?
