This is one of the many levels on the D!Zone CD. If I recall, there were four or five CDs. These levels are there to play if you enjoy torturing yourself with laughably bad level design, and some even containing custom sound effects and sprites(which are also bad.)

I like it, but it's one of those gameplay mods that can feel like it's designed for a completely different style of map to typical Doom maps sometimes. I don't consider TNT to be a difficult IWAD but at high difficulty it makes TNT pretty much 10x more difficult just because of the monster and weapon re-balancing. Works nicely in Doom 1, though.

This has probably been discussed for a decade, but what do you guys think of the weapon balance in regular doom/doom2?

Even though the double-barreled shotgun is iconic, I think like they should've made it quad- or even octa-barreled shotgun like in that one weapons wad. There's almost no reason to use the normal shotgun because two shots at once isn't that wasteful even on shit-tier monsters, and yet when the mapmakers love to put barons of hell and other damage sponges everywhere it becomes a chore to kill them with the super shotgun because it takes so many perfect hits for each one.

Alright, I finally have my first draft of my level. I just completed it and near the end you might have to trudge forward to get more ammo so it can be a very intense feeling. It is a standard space station map, somewhat small but plenty of back tracking and killing monsters. Do not be fooled with how much ammo there is in some of the rooms, even with the amounts I give you, you will be using almost all of it so try not to overkill on item pick ups. There are three secrets, one with a mega armor, one with a soul sphere, and one with a back pack. I didn't get any of those when testing the level so don't feel like you HAVE to get the secrets, but they will help a ton. With this map I have been experimenting with monster teleports, so I can get monsters in an area I want that you've already cleared.

The weapons you are restricted to is the pistol, shotgun, super shotgun, chaingun, and late in the map you get a plasma gun.

Hopefully it will be enjoyable, but watch out for traps.

it looks awesome and the blue key card room was a cool little surprise, but you rely much too much on either throwing spectres at us in a room that is so dark it's almost black, a couple of bullshit moments where when you hit a switch a knight spawns beside us and IMMEDIATELY strike us (killed me the first time), and an extremely strict ammo allowance

I mean, the first time you go back into the hub room and it's full of cacos and pain elementals, i thought that was really cool. the second time, i was down to 45 pistol rounds and fifteen shotgun shells, and simply could not progress

i even conserved, using my pistol/minigun on anything less than a knight or cacodemon, and i still had literally nothing to throw at the hub after i got the yellow key

not fun, but mechanically, the map is really cool - good blue room, neat piston gimmick to "solve" the blue room's "problem", and a great layout (the lighting effects in that little warehouse-y area were cool

Open it up, and go to File > New > WAD file, the beep in the Doom 2 IWAD is called DSRADIO, so be sure to rename your sound file to that and then drag n drop it inside SLADE

Save it and give it a new name, let's say RADIO.WAD, and put it in the Zandronum folder; now open up the Zandronum .ini file and search for "[Global.Autoload]"

Now add a new line below it called "Path=RADIO.WAD" and test it. As far as my Doom knowledge goes, it should work

Okay I did an update with it based on a few things one guy said and also looking at this picture: >>566460 since he ran out of ammo.

I reduced some of the Specters in areas, some places in which you had three coming out I reduced it to two, the warp in inside the room you access through the blue key card has been reduced from four to two.

There has been a bit more ammo added in. The Baron of Hell next to the pillar with the armor shards has been changed. Instead of armor shards I changed them to shotgun shells and bullet clips, thus amounting to a total of 16 shells and 40 bullets if you pick them all up from around the pillar. Hopefully it will be enough to push through the hub room.

The room with the super shotgun inside of it, the Hell Knight has been turned away from you when he is initially released.

Also in the dark room with the blue keycard I broke up the bullet boxes into bullet clips and put them near the walls (a few next to the switch) and some near the blue key pedestal. It will still amount to 100 bullets in all since two boxes of bullets gives you 100 bullets so I put ten clips in there for a 100 bullets, and encourages someone to run around the room to see if they can pick more things up after they see they gain something from running up to either the switch or key card.

Project ILE here! I've changed the shotgun altfire into a slug! It's a single, slow moving slug that pierces whatever armor they do, and does a Piercing damagetype, which works better against bosses, mancubi, and hell barons.

I put a back pack as a secret because I knew it would be something sought after. It should be in the room with the SSG. There is also mega armor and a soul sphere somewhere in the map, and easily accessed within the rooms you've been to. Also I checked in the blue key card room, one of the small sectors was marked as a crusher and I fixed it because I ran into that as well before. I will sprinkle a few more shells and clips into either a monster closet or in the box room.

Thanks. Originally I was going to have a bunch of dead imps around the chaingun, but when I placed them as decorations the Archvile didn't interact with them. I wanted a sort of "oh shit" moment when you try to run the hell out of there and get behind a corner. With that it gives the Archvile time to revive guys. I knew I couldn't make Doom scary so I just made it so you never feel safe, even when you pick up a nice new weapon you will feel like that power still isn't enough and always uneasy about what is up ahead.

Also one thing about the final room that you need the yellow key card for, don't spray and pray, it will hurt you more than help you.

So, I'm finally working on Burl Tumd again. I still don't have any ideas for the BFG, but I'm not really sure if I could out-do its badassery. Anyway, I've got a couple of updates lined up, figured I'd post here for some feedback.

>Archvile fire now does a tiny amount of damage as it burns, preparing you for the main blast. If you take the full duration of the fire and the explosion, it'll kill you from 100 HP.

>Cacodemon lightning balls now blind the player momentarily but only do 5-10 damage. Caco painchance is also reduced, and on death they start deflating like a balloon, flying all over the place while making a silly noise.

>Both Spider Mastermind and Cyberdemon have no painchance and 75% resistance to explosions.

>Finally got around to nerfing plasma rifle's altfire, the explosions now do damage according to the size of their explosions. Also added trails to the primary balls and fixed their animation.

>Brought the chainsaw back, primary "fires" 150% faster than vanilla and uses short-ranged ripping projectiles alongside the melee attack. Altfire gives it a hefty toss, but only if the button is held and then released. The chainsaw can be retrieved once it lands (provided you can reach it, of course) and won't vanish if it hits the sky.
