Maybe not now there isn't. Games these days have stuff like this everywhere to the point where i don't even blink. Back then was a mixture of me being young and OOT doing a lot of things i'd never had to think through before. Not much scared me on SNES (Maybe aside from a few things in Super Metroid) and most of what i played on n64 before it was fun/bouncy/silly. Ocarina of time had a different feeling to it overall, being on a serious adventure in a 3D world and having to think in dimensions i had never had before. Kind of overwhelming to a ten year old, thats why it was such a fun experience at the time.

The first area on Tawfret in Jet Force Gemini. All the zombified drones gave me nightmares as a kid. It was a mixture of the creepy music, the deformed bodies, and the ungodly noises they make when you shoot them. Didn't help that i didn't know how to kill them at first and they wouldn't die no matter how many machine gun rounds i pumped into them. I legit thought i just had to run away.

There was a red room near the beginning of one of the Fatal Frame games (I think it was the first one) where you find hints that one of the ghosts was a child killer (dolls maybe?) and on your way out its form flashes in front of you, hunched over and smiling with long fingers just for a second. The Zelda series in general has been fun to watch enemies go from 2D top-down to 3D. Hinox and Lynels appearing in Breath of the Wild after all this time was pretty neat. Just wasn't expecting the Lynels to be turned into death machines.

I went in expecting lots of things and the world twisted in unimaginable directions time and time again and the way you could pretty much play god with the fates of people in the world was at times unnerving. Majora's Mask isn't so much scary as it is moridly dark. Characters die, or have recently died more often than in other Zelda games, characters go through varying stages of grief and the fact that the villain's end goal is something you have to manually delay instead of only happening after you Game Over.
It's not a SCARY game, but the game negatively affecting somebody isn't unreasonable at all.

The music speeding up as the timer runs out really increases the tension, and if you fail, you get brutally murdered by spikes. The way the camera shows the spikes falling down without Banjo making a sound was always very unnerving to me, more so than if they had showed the body or played a goofy death sound or something.
