-WHAT'S NEW?-

What do you guys thinks about collab parks without spots?
Have any landscape you want to share/start a new game in?

-/v/+/vg/+/vr/ scenarios, rides and save files-
I'm browsing archived RCT threads for scenarios, rides and save files made by fellow anons.
Like I said in an old thread, I'll put them all in their respective RARs. So, if you have any you want to share,
now would be a good time do to so. So far I've only got a few.

Does anyone have any good landscape saves to create custom scenarios on instead of just the whole scenario?

There are so many awesome landscapes, both official and user made, that I would love to use, but not within the scenarios offered.

For example, I really like the Termina and Mountain Ranges landscapes in the custom scenarios, but they don't offer the rides/shops/scenery that I would like to use. I was well into the Mountain Ranges scenario building up my park when I realized that the scenery themes I really wanted to use weren't available in that scenario, and it took the wind out of my sails to continue playing.

It's been so difficult to find a scenario that offers everything I want in land and buildable options, and its really frustrating, especially when many have lots of what I'm looking for but are missing just a few things. It sucks. It's looking more like I'm going to just have to bite the bullet and create my own landscape from scratch just so I can custom tailor the options to my wants.

So does anyone have any landscape only saves, or scenario in progress saves that they could share so I could use a pimpin landscape but still create my own scenario for it?

The sprite limit on RCT2 is 8000. Meaning, 7000 guests, 500 vomit tiles 499 flying balloons and 1 duck. It's why attracting guests is so hard once you hit 6000. Your park needs to be spotless.

The splash carts are heavier when they're full of people, so you have a max drop and immediately into a hill. Usually, you hit the lift speed of 3mph about 15ft lower then the previous drop. Keep it going at this speed through the whole course and you have a quick way to rack up excitement.

You need 4 stations because it's 4 separate rides on the same track. Charging $20 for a 13 excitement ride is fucking awesome when it's only 2 minutes long.

For the 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 parks:
You go into the spreadsheet (linked in the OP), put your name down in a free spot and then wait forever for the few SWASHBUCKLERs to get on with their part.
When it's your turn, pick an empty plot, build your park in the 25x25 space however you like and make something cool, then you send it to the next guy in the list:

For the no borders version:
Several people get together over Skype (2 to 4), agree on a central theme for the park and make a 75x75 plot with lots of custom scenery for that theme available.
Then, they just take it in turns adding little bits to the park with that theme with an overwhelming priority on scenery and looking good, while bouncing ideas off each other to make the result even better, the final result of which should look roughly like a single park with coasters going through different buildings all over the place and all looking very beautiful.

I have returned for the better part of 5 minutes.

While trying to clear scenarios without my computer shutting down on me (shit-tier laptop reporting in. Anybody know how I can stop it from overheating and shutting off mid-game?), I dug up some old saves from ages ago. This one in particular is an Octagon Park where I attempted to win with hax in an attempt to create a park that favored aesthetics and not functionality.

Here's Genesis, a wooden coaster with Looping coaster trains.

Here's a better one in a little square. Has higher excitement than those huge Giga-Coasters, (like Goliath) right now, though that may be because part of it had to be build a bit underground. Otherwise the design wouldn't allow me to build a way to the entrance and exit. The game actually defaults this one to 9(!) trains, though more than 3-4 will just cause massive crashes.

Here's a small case study comparing the excitement levels of scenery affecting rides, using my Ferarri coaster from my /vr/ contributed map.

The top is the coaster in the park itself complete with scenery, underground segment and proximity to other rides. The excitement is up in the Very High area and yet only has a Medium Intensity and Nausea rating.

Now take the scenery, underground segment and other rides, and it completely drops an entire point. Also to note that the stats are also different too, such as the max and average speeds, Pos Vert, Neg Vert and Lat g-forces have decreased for some reason, along with the ride time.

I understand the Excitement/Intensity/Nausea ratings changing, but the other ones? I have no clue. Just an interesting insight.

I have build a couple of coasters who are at the bare minimum of speed needed to clear a loop when they reach it. Most of them work fine all the time, but some had to be scrapped because sometimes the train just couldn't make it, even though nothing had changed. You test it for 20 runs, 19 of them work and suddenly it fails to make the loop.

It seems there can always be some slight difference in speed.

I was planning on making the park sprawl out more so that hired handimen have to spend more time cleaning up litter at the start, but I hit the limit for litter/puke already. I could fit in more vandalism, but the path accessories already made it look like a normal park before they got destroyed. I also wanted to add tons of gardens that hadn't been watered but it rained while I was making the save for the park and I changed my mind on that. All in all, I'm satisfied that I did what I could with the limits the game gave me. I'll test it some more and see if it does work better to give a different objective.

Theme Park World had those. The following are totally untested by myself but apparently work:

>Start a small park with four puzzle games close together, two rides, one food, one bathroom and a gate price of $0. If you set it up so all four puzzle games are within view of each other, you can do the global price raise/lower for all puzzles while all four are active (making $40,000 at once) The $0 gate price will get the visitors in fast. Set the prizes value to $10 and a maximum win possibility. That makes the visitors happy, stay longer, and play more.

>Set all of your sideshows so that the prize price is the same as the play price. Then, set the win probability to medium or high, but not maximum. If the people win, you do not lose money, if they lose you get a profit, and they are usually happy and keep playing.

>On any park, build the giant puzzle sideshow. While someone plays that sideshow, increase the admission price to the maximum amount ($10,000). Click on the three ticks before they finish the game to get $10,000 in your bank. Make sure you select the confirmation check to activate that price. You must then set the price back after that person is done so that other people will go to the sideshow. Then, just repeat the trick.

We can all make jew rides if we want to. Don't be so proud of yourself that you've figured out how to exploit the ratings. Make a large, pretty park and then think about posting it

Good job!
Is this RCT 1 or 2? The design wouldn't be that much of a help in 1 since loops for wooden coasters usually have to be researched and are not available from the start.
I tried to create an as-compact-as-possible wooden coaster in RCT 1 a while back and this was the result. It's cheap, has a short ride time and can be built on nearly any terrain due to the low construction height. The speed at which the trains arrive at the station is slow enough to not have to worry about station breaks failure, and although the stats aren't spectacular, they're decent enough when built in a park with paths, other attractions and scenery nearby.
