PSA: A random translator recently dropped Dead of the Brain fully translated:

>> No.5614832

I downloaded the zip file and the readme inside it didn't explain how to patch it or make it work. I am too much of a brainlet concerning PC-98 emulation. I have anex86 and Neko Project II setup to play Rusty but didn't touch it any further after playing that for a while.

Wat do?

Not sure it's going to be a pleasant experience emulating a keyboard system through retroarch but I'll give it a try. So far everything seems to be working fine and it's only asking for mouse input, if it starts asking for keyboard keys I imagine it's gonna conflict with retroarch's actual shortcut keys. This goddamn GIF was so hard to make since in AVI or PNG SEQUENCE form it actually has 3000 frames and most programs don't allow GIFs this large or just crash. However when you do the final step of mixing the similar frames into a single one, it actually comes down to just 250ish frames. But in order to get there no program wasn't letting me import all those frames. Goddamn GIFs are such a hassle, nothing works properly I have to juggle 40 different programs

I played the policenauts translation on retroarch and I noticed I could make out the border around their mouths when their lips would animate. I dropped it just because of that, does snatcher have the same issue?

It looks really amateurish for an otherwise sleak presentation

>> No.5632449

>>5632318
That seems like an emulation bug. If you're not, you should be using the mednafen/beetle core in retroarch for either saturn or ps1.
The Saturn is the better port but it's not that much of an improvement over the PS1 version.
Neither Snatcher nor Policenauts have that issue. It's a problem with your emulation. Also Snatcher is a better game imo.

I've finished Dead of the Brain. It's the great B-movie experience I was expecting to play, I just want to try more shit like this. Extra points for how good the violent scenes are, they add a lot charm.

I'm not too fond of the art style of the second game, seems like a huge downgrade. Though it does look more sombre so it might be more effective for the tone they're chasing.
The translator guy seems to be working on Makyouden now and should arrive in a month he claims.

I'm way more interested in Marine Philt, not that invested in these characters that I'd rather have the sequel when it does seem to at least look worse.

Boy was this GIF hard to assemble, but anyways enjoy, that's the last of it.

If you want all the GIFs plus the original .mkv files download the pack here:

I also did something similar in a Yu-No thread a few years ago if you're interested in them:

See you in some other thread.

Sure not saying otherwise. But the system has so many, at least interesting games visually, that makes me wonder "man why did he pick this one?". But I know I'm being very shallow, I'm just looking at the graphics and setting.
I'll at least try it for sure if/when he releases it, but just saying, from what I quickly glanced it doesn't look to interesting to me personally.

Its like Dos Box but worse, luckly the dude made is so you just have to run the EXE. But fuck I tried getting other games setup how he did and I had to give up

In other news these are all the games Ive found in English atm. But wish I could get them to work with Dox Box X

Not really, it's one of the hardest systems to emulate especially if you don't know jap since a lot of the problems would be troubleshooting the Japan error messages. Not a problem for this game though, everything is working smoothly
