Is there any place to get previous versions of BuildGDX? I want to compare performance between versions. Or alternatively is there a place to download BloodGDX? All I can find is BuildGDX.

Also, how do you run mods in Blood? In DOSBox I mean. Not with any source ports or the remaster. I want to be able to compare accuracy in the mods vs. how they run in other versions.

blood.exe -ini modname.ini

if using bmouse, then:
bmouse.exe launch blood.exe -ini modname.ini

or just patch blood.exe with build mouse fix so that you don't have to fuck around:

Finished chapter 1 and 2 so far on extra crispy.
2 felt rushed desu, not sure if because i went to the secret level and amassed so much ammo that i didnt need it on the last 2 levels, but the spider boss seem bugged, it stayed idle most of the time while i blasted it with the napalm launcher.

NBlood or the remaster, GDX doesn't support the original palette so the colors look all wrong.

Just install One Unit Whole Blood (either from GOG or Steam), unpack the NBlood package into the folder and then run nblood.exe.

I'm slowly progressing through the game on Well Done by savescumming (currently on E2, holy shit it's so much easier than E1, I even did E2M1 in my first attempt with no deaths)
I'm starting to question the "crouch always" advice. I've spent hours testing it and it seems like placebo. I've had much more success dodging gunfire by jumping around a lot than crouching

To be fair the second to hardest difficulty is usually the "go to" difficulty for almost every other shooter of the era. People want the highest amount of enemies to kill, but aren't expecting Blood to also increase enemy stats as well.

People think Well Done=Ultra Violence/Come Get Some when it's more of a Nightmare difficulty and Extra Crispy is Nightmare+

Breeze through it once on lightly broiled, then come back to it on well done / extra crispy or better yet, custom difficulty with bloodgdx, max enemies numbers (equivalent to extra crispy) but not max enemy health nor damage (equivalent to well done).
Death wish is absolutely amazing, but you need to somewhat know the maps to make it pleasant on well done and above. Not especially for enemy placement (though it helps, obviously) but for secrets, since there are almost no napalm launchers or voodoo dolls available otherwise.

First of all, I'm not a zoomer.
Second of all, I'm playing on the second easiest setting. The reason I'm getting pissed off, is the map maker for the second episode of death wish seems to enjoy cramming sadistic encounters into all of his maps. Not even the vanilla game map makers thought it would be cute to have you basically relive a fucking road runner cartoon in video game format.

You can just listen to the soundtrack on youtube while playing.
It's the exact same thing, in fact, it's better. In game it switches track every time you die or change map, even in the middle or start of it, which can be annoying.

On ep4, first play through. Playing on Well Done and using nblood.

The game is pretty easy on Well Done. I struggled in the first few levels of ep1, but that was because I was paying enemies far too much respect after reading the memes about cultists. If you aren't scared and play aggressive for the most part you'll sail through it. Perhaps it's the engine?

Regardless, I love the game. It's a shame I never played it at the time, despite playing almost every other fps game (even Klingon honour guard!). I really will be sad when I complete all the content, as I always look forward to playing it.

I must admit it was this board and Civvie episodes that made me download it. I did play and enjoy the blood 2 demo and shogo demo when they came out though, just oddly missed out on blood itself.
