Are you supposed to be able to time travel in this zone at all? Sonic CD level design is pure shit overall, but this takes the stink to another level and makes the worst of Mario Maker look like masterpieces.

Sonic was never that good anyway. It mostly sold because of graphics and marketing. The fact that people still only talk about Sonic in the context of being le epic Mario rival is a testament to this, and it's even more tedious when you notice that many games outsold Sonic back then, especially in the PS1 era when Nintendo was actually losing.
