In a few years time the vita will probably be the better emu.

Awful D-pad. Also it sucks at SNES emulation.

I'm using one.
The OLED looks great and the Vita is basically an upgraded psp.
Takes some getting used to however.
I personally highly recommend it.

Oh, what I forgot to mention.
The D-pad on the Vita is smaller than on the psp, something I personally don't like but it's good otherwise.

I use Vita mostly for emulation, mame, psp and ps1.

The Vita could have been an amazing emulation platform but people disregard it because it's a flop as a console.

Surprising the legitimate success of a console is correlated with how interested bedroom coders are in making unofficial shit but here we are.

been some time that I don't mess around with most stuff on the vita but I remember this: There's a native emulator (made for vita) for the snes that I recall didn't run as many games as the psp emulators but the ones it does run, they run more than ok, some even without skipping a single frame, others are more than playable with some tweaks in the settings including low frame skipping. I recall also testing a gba non retro game in the emulator on the psp, then the same emulator running through the psp emulator (adrenaline) in the vita, it runs better in the vita/psp emulation.
I've playing harvest moon btn (psone original) on the vita through the psp emulator, it looks wonderful.

actually, let me correct myself. it supports a difficult to hide adapter, if you can deal with that. I'd easily trade TV-out for the discrete microSD adapter + suspend support of the Vita though.

>>5567990
I like the d-pad, but yeah it does struggle with snes emulation sometimes. I can partly chalk that to to not knowing what snes emulators I should use and having an older model psp, though. What emulator did you use?

Just because you haven't noticed the issues doesn't mean you haven't had them. The processor just isn't enough to keep up with full speed SNES emulation and the audio is trash.

Or people who heard about Go when it was first announced and never looked at it again. It was an easy target for the hatred of internet for a while. As someone who only bought digital PSP stuff when Vita was released I always used Go with CFW and it was fantastic.

It is pretty funny how digital only stuff is so accepted now. Xbone SAD edition is a thing and it's not getting the same flack Go got. I guess one day always online and no second hand games consoles will be a thing and no one will give too much of a shit.

Now I think about it PC games are pretty much this, needs some client to check periodically and has no second had market. RIP physical PC games.

Just popping into this thread to tell you not to buy the new bittboy
-no save function, only save states
-can't press a+b+start+select all at once
-the microusb port on mine broke off the board and I had to solder it back on
-slightly wrong aspect ratio
-slightly wrong emulation speeds
-tinny treble heavy speaker
apparently there is custom software made by nerds that fixes some issues, but idk anything about that
I think the next revision of the bittboy might actually be worth buying
