This one is Smash Ping-Pong on famicom.

You ever play this game? I understand it to be a port of an arcade game which was handled by Nintendo themselves. Pretty fun if I do say so myself. Kind of exacting though.

What have you discovered or played for the first time recently?

I love it for the aesthetic but I don't know what the fuck is up with the catching mechanics. Its the most fucked baseball controls I've ever had to mess with, why does it fight your inputs

Smash Ping Pong is a Konami game, I remember playing the MSX version of it as a kid.

damn that's a fine photo. I don't know what to tell you, but that auto-control during the catching just doesn't work well. I can't read moon so I don't know if you can turn it off in the menus but I've definitely played baseball games that knew when it shouldn't be resisting input

Soryr, I could have explained it better. Konami made the original for arcade but this version was ported by Nintendo themselves, which is why Donkey Kong Jr. appears in the audience instead of Pentarou.

I don't know how I didn't hear about this game before, maybe because the serving and returning isn't the most intuitive? I've seen only a few reviews and FAQs for this game, and they all seem to very obviously miss major points of the game. Makes me feel like I should write about it to set the record straight. This game is fucking awesome, one of the most intense I've played on NES/FC. Can't wait to experience it in multiplayer too.
