Generally I have found Nintendo's snes emulation to be fine. And with a jrpg you will never notice anything like input lag.
Their n64 emulation- especially on the wii u is rife with input lag, though. Wii is much better in that regard.

And in general, nintendo removes a lot of flashing effects from many games due to seizure concerns.

Where did you get this information?
In 2D mode the resolution is 400x240, in 3D it's 800x240 but each eye is only seeing half of that. SNES VC only runs in 2D

They are stretched a bit horizontally, but that's because it's scaling it from 8:7 (perfect square pixels) to 4:3 (rectangular pixels) to better match how they look on a real TV

I fell for the "PSP is an emulation powerhouse in 2018 meme" and fixed up a few broken ones on the cheap and have had a pretty solid experience with them so far. The system has a few obvious shortcomings when it comes to emulation so I mostly just use it for PSP lately and just recently got a 3DS.

That being said all the systems the PSP emulated well are far better on the 3DS. No screen ghosting, higher compatibility on average, more accurate emulation and all through the retroarch interface. The only thing the PSP does better atm is GBA emulation and marginaly faster load times.

If you're desperate to play some GBA pokemon games you can do VC injects which are better than nothing I suppose.

In 2D mode the internal resolution is 400x240, but the screen resolution is still 800x240. We’re talking actual physical pixel structure here. In 3D mode the extra horizontal pixels are used in tandem with the parallax barrier to create the illusion of a proper pixel grid, along with the 3D of course.

>They are stretched a bit horizontally
Completely irrelevant to what I was saying. You can disable this stretching, anyway.

>> No.5510324

>>5510315
What? You can run GBA games natively on the 3DS through VC injects, and even mGBA is running most games full speed.

>Better than nothing I suppose
It’s 1:1 accuracy so you’re damn right it’s better than nothing. It’s sure as shit better than the speed hack-ridden messes that are the GBA emulators on PSP.

Not in my experience. mGBA has boatloads of audio skipping on all the games I want to play which makes it a no go for me and gpsp with dynarec enabled crashes half the time.

>It’s 1:1 accuracy
Hmmmmmm no but its acceptable. I've run into a few games that wouldn't convert right or even generate a working save file. Plus you dont get any perks from emulation and you have to convert each game individually.

Its better than nothing.

its as good as its going to get on regular PSP's. game library is about 60% playable, very subtle stutter and screen tearing in most games.

>I keep hearing n3DS is the current portable emulation king.

>I've run into a few games that wouldn't convert right or even generate a working save file.
1. Make sure you’re using a clean rip
2. Some games need to be anti-piracy patched
3. Some games need to be save patched
These are issues present when using GBA flash carts. Their presence on the 3DS doesn’t signify inaccuracy.
You can run any game perfectly that doesn’t make use of additional hardware (e.g, WarioWare, Boktai, NES Classic series).
