Why should I play this?

I've been studying rotation systems and whatnot. Game's pretty primitive but people seem to swear by it.

>> No.5486192

It's aged pretty poorly. You should play TGM2 instead, or hell, even the '80s arcade tetris by Sega.

It's really engaging. Tetris IMO is one of those absolutely timeless games that will always appeal to people, no matter what.

There was a different Tetris for the Famicom made by Bullet Proof Software. It's on a smaller ROM and is kind of crap compared to the US NES version.

>Why should I play this?
Because it's the purest and most original Tetris. None of that gay pussy shit like holding pieces or seeing 5 pieces ahead or spinning pieces infinitely without them locking into place or radnomization algorithms that guarantee you to get one of every piece. Just pure, unadulterated Tetris. See one piece ahead, no holding, pieces lock instantly in place.. a man's game.

Is an inferior port of the original NES game.

Newer Tetris are too easy and became boring easily. NES and GB versions are way more fun and unique.

Studying rotation? Primitive? Do you understand what you are saying? Whats with all the drunken OPs lately?

this is exactly what he was talking about though

Anyhow, each to their own. This chink would probably get obliterated in a classic tetris competition (as has been seen with actual examples) and a classic tetris competitor would probably get obliterated at modern tetris.

Tetris is a fun challenging game, if you have a switch get tetris99, you play against 98 other people at once, it's great.

What's the best version of customisable PC Tetris? I swear there was one I played years ago.

I'd like to try combining newer stuff like hard-drop and ghosting, with old-school random piece selection and instant piece locking. Tetris company enforcing its dogmatic guidelines with no variation has made modern Tetris the same with no variation. All people know these days is the modern rendition, which while good for speed-play and multiplayer, does not compare to a good old classic singleplayer Tetris marathon.
