I used to hate Unreal 2, but I simply doubled the player movement speed in console and suddenly it became fun. I don't know why they chose the have the player move so slow by default, unless they wanted to make it easier for the console players.

Not only the ASMD, but also Minigun, hell - Minigun in particular does this "lockdown" effect to the players. Technically speaking, whenever your character is hit, its Actor changes its physics to "falling" and this state prevents you from jumping or dodging. If someone is good with a minigun, your'e basically fucked.
