It is, that's why I've been lamenting the fact that Japari used up all of mine before I got to this map.
It gives you increased strength and stamina, increased speed, no fucking heart attacks when sprinting too long, almost instant health regen, instagib punches at the speed of Kenshiro on crack, it's pretty much what you take when you need to get through a "vanilla doom" section if you get my meaning.

Also, you're so damn humble about your first creation that I'm at the edge of my seat to play it.

They spawn in maps normally. Full-auto pistol is quite rare, though I've seen it spawn in place of a chaingun (I was real confused about why there was a pistol on an obvious trap pedestal) and even drop from an enemy, I think it was an imp.
Semi-only ZM6 is a quite common drop from zombiemen, I've never noticed it spawn in the map.

Because it was kind of rushed out in 5 months or so, with Sandy having to pick up a lot from Romero's slack, who was frequently absent to party, play deathmatch with fans, and to talk to press, about how great he- I mean ID Software was.

Sandy did a lot of the really good maps for Doom 2 (Tricks & Traps, Barrels O' Fun, The Spirit World), but he also made some which are not very good at all (Nirvana, Downtown). Romero's maps in Doom 2 are generally great (in fact I think The Living End and Sphincter Of Obliteration alone are better than his Doom 1 maps), but he only did a couple few.
Sandy faltering at times can in large be attributed to him having to do way more maps than he probably should have, stretching his imagination thin.

Gameplay looks a little on the shit side with small flying explosive kamikaze enemies and the pinkie demon tier monsters are notably shorter than you but are still fully capable of body blocking you.
It's a pretty bog standard example of an artist not fully grasping game mechanics and just sticking to their strength of visual flair, and even then their anatomy is a little fucked because their humanoid designs have trapezoid shaped torsos. Some of the weapon animations look bad too, and I found the crossbow's design to be weird, but that's just my weapon autism flaring up.

TL;DR it's annoying to play, characters look weird, environments look nice.

I just played a little of it. The level design so far is room after room of the same thing over and over. You have to run around and grab 2 keys and a pickaxe before you even see the first enemy, and it's not very fun because there's platforming with shitty physics and the rooms are full of shit to get caught on. Once you do start finding things to fight it's a little satisfying though. The sounds are pretty nice and the axe is fun to throw. Swinging it doesn't feel as good. The punches feel kinda pitty patty.
The first gun you get doesn't feel great, but it's not horrible either... Kinda meh.
Art wise, the sprites are shit, but the textures are actually pretty nice, though probably not used to their fullest potential. I haven't seen a wide variety yet either, but like I said I'm pretty early in.
Not sure when I get to the part where you cram your massive cock down some elf woman's throat, but I'm sure it's coming.

One of the big reasons why I haven't tried out the newest updates or even touch the loadout editor and stick with 3.7.1.0. The class selection menu is simple and easy to use.

Hideous Destructor is kind of like a modern tactical shooter, with a lot of emphasis on realism.
It is however Doom, so you have supernatural demons who are now especially mean and know a lot of evil tricks, and there is also magic powerups to help you do things which would otherwise be impossible.
Soulspheres, Megaspheres, and the rare blue potion can heal injuries which otherwise would be too severe to fix with regular medical equipment, Spiritual Armor protects you from far more damage than just a normal piece of armor ever could, the Invulnerabilitysphere still makes you invulnerable, and the Blursphere now makes you fully invisible, but at the cost of your sanity, and the Blursphere does NOT like healing magic.
On manmade things, Berserk lets you do shit your body just wouldn't otherwise, HEAT warheads, the Brontornis cannon, and demolition charges, all can let you destroy certain locked doors and barriers (very thin doors may potentially be breached just by kicking). The D.E.R.P is a pistol on a little tracked sentry contraption that can be set to patrol or be controlled remotely, the H.E.R.P is an automated machinegun on a swivelmount, both can be valuable tools, but mind that zombies can also use them.

Some imps can heal other monsters, barons now have a very nasty surprise, spectres are the fucking worst, and arch-viles are worse than ever.
Cyberdemons and Spiderminds are tougher too.

Weapons need reloading, which includes you having to fill the magazines a lot of the time, but there's a lot of variety and roles.
The ZM66 is a space age piece of shit with a lot of stupid quirks, but it and its ammo is very lightweight, and a salvo of 4.26mm usually handles mook enemies, and further there's enough of these rifles and their magazines just lying around that you can treat them as disposable, if you're getting a lot of malfunctions, just throw the ZM66 away and pick up a new one, some of them have grenade launcher attachments.

The Hunter is a trusty shotgun, you pump it manually between shots, or set it to semi-auto and let the gas piston do the work for you. The self-loading isn't always 100% reliable though, so some prefer to stick to manual mode (which you can still short-stroke if you don't make sure to pump it all the way back, but you'll learn the rhytm).
There's the Vulcanette, which is a little 4.26mm gatling monster, much heavier than the ZM66, but also far more reliable, and there's hand grenades, which are widely useful.
There's a lot of different useful weapons, and I wouldn't want to spoil them.

Hideos Destructor is fairly hard, but there's a logic to its difficulty and it becomes much easier when you learn it.
Some levels will actually be so bothersome that many wouldn't consider them playable with HD, but you should probably be able to do the original Doom episodes fine.
Mind that HD doesn't play fair with you, which means you don't need to play fair with HD.
Do you really want to press that switch to get that key you need, and get into likely an extremely bothersome fight that you could be unequipped to handle? Why not just climb that ledge and swipe the key without fighting, or hell, breach the locked door or otherwise try to scale a barrier with the help of a rope ladder. Your imagination can save you a lot of trouble.

Increments are measured in actors, every time you touch this, the old pickup disappears and leaves the next one, until you're at the last one.
You can alter the ammo given on each, and as long as you make another actor for the previous one to jump to, the ammo pickup can be as long as you want.
You can further assign whatever sound, sprites, and pickup messages you want. You can have the pickup leave an empty container or something after you take the last ammo, or you can omit it and it will disappear cleanly afterwards.

In the example here, this box holds 40 pistol cartridges, and you can touch it four times, getting 10 cartridges each time. If you have the space to pick up 40 cartridges, when you touch this object, you would pick up all 40 cartridges in the span of 4 tics.

I did it to all my shotgun ammo pickups, so now you can take a single shell from a pile or a 'speed strip', and leave the rest for later.
I figure the shells are large enough you'd pay attention to that, since grenade pickups already work as such.

I opted to not do so for rifle and pistol ammo, because they're smaller and you can carry far more at a time (and also that would be like fucking 40+ actors I would have to define for one object). If you just pay attention to your ammo counts, you can make the most of those pickups anyway.

Yeah, one thing I tried awhile back was an incredibly hacky way of it where the box item was just a spawner for as many of the normal items, but they looked like the box item. Sorta same effect as a megabonus where you got 50 health vials but they're all in the same spot.

About memory/CPU usage:
Do over-extensive usage of animated textures/flats puts a strain on memory or CPU? I remember playing some WAD where one of the middle (i.e. around MAP15) maps were almost exclusively made from writhing tentacles textures/flats, and I was forced to skip it because FPS were dropping into single digits. Not sure because the WAD was sorta strange in relation to enemy numbers (i.e. there was no clear progression, and later levels could contain lesser enemies than earlier, so it could be that this level has an ass-load of monsters).

Back in the 2000's, community megawads were generally far and few between, and tended to be invite only teams, which lead to Community Chest being born to give lesser known mappers a chance to be in a big name megawad. However, the 2010's has seen a large influx of community megawads, many of which were/are open for anyone to contribute. As such, Community Chest as a concept has become redundant.

Again, that's what plasma rifle for. Send a stream of plasma death in their direction and you're good, that way you almost automatically kill Lost Souls those bastards will try to send your way.

If they're in a group with other monsters, they're a wildcard, either everything becomes much worse, or they start spitting lost souls at other monsters and that's your chance.

That's why Pain Elementals are only second in my personal list "Doom enemies to kill first" - after Archviles, naturally. Recently I can remember only two situations where I let PEs to mix in infighting: one was some sort of ass-huge arena with literally every Doom monster represented in several groups, and second was a duel with Cyberdemon where I lured PE to infight Cybie just from pure curiosity - it's not very common to meet these two together. Same with Archies - I let them in infighting only if they are against some heavy-hitters like fatsos, Cyberdemon or Mastermind.

And there is other reasons to get rid of PEs and 'Viles first - former can lead to a crash on really old machines if left producing too much Lost Souls and second could fuck up you kill count (though twice I somehow got really funny results - more kills than there was monsters, something like 65/64, though on tally screen first time this happened it shows simply 100% but second it was really something like 105%, which I only heard of but never seen myself till that day).

Pain Elementals dont spawn lost souls when youre not in their view. So if you have a little cover and some decent firepower, they're not bad to fight. They only really get frustrating when there's a bunch of them at once, or if they start infighting with other monsters.

Both Bolognese and Nashgore detect regular Death state. Dakka's rocket launcher has +EXTREMEDEATH which causes it to normally always gib enemies. However this also counts as XDeath and thus is not detected by Nash/Bolognese.

I got to the bottom of this and it turns out it did get finished.
The problem is it has an ixne on anyone using it, at least for now since the project is in the alpha state, but probably for the long term too.
I asked the guy and he said that he doesnt care if people play it as a personal replacement (eg, load your own) for the cyber or whatnot, which is all I really cared about.
But most likely it means someone is going to steal these sprites and anger will happen.

Also Goku can summon an infinite army out of his hair so Doomguy will have to get to him first. And then again, and again and again. I always felt a bit cheated by how in PSX Doom, you could technically get the SSG in Doom 1, but only at like the absolute end.
I mean, granted, you don't generally need the SSG for the original levels, but maybe you'll raise the stakes a bit on Ultra-Violence, maybe put a few more Doom 2 monsters in, and some more monsters in general.

It has all Original Wad Files from the classic games. For those unaware, it's only possible to play doom mods, like brutal doom by using the required original wad file.

It's pretty easy finding the wad files for Doom 1 & 2, but it's kinda harder finding it for games like strife, hexen and heretic.
