Suikoden 1 and 2 are excellent. Breath of Fire 3 and 4 are quite good. Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean 2, Vagrant Story and Chrono Cross are worth playing. Avoid Tales of Destiny, Lunar and Xenogears.

I think the Suikoden games are super overrated. If you're going to play them then know that they are stock-standard JRPG's that just have a gimmick of needing to recruit 108 party members.The characters have little to no depth, the plot never really gets interesting and the combat is mostly braindead.

I started this game up on my Vita not too long ago but decided to stop because I felt like it was a game that was really meant to be played on a TV. It was definitely pretty neat though- the writing and the voice acting in particular were pretty impressive, especially by JRPG standards.

Yeah it's got some issues but what it does well it does very well. It's a short sweet ride but it's worth playing.

Not fucking Jade Cocoon. I don't think I've ever seen a more arthritic game. I was there for an hour and fuck all had happened. What truly killed me though was how much it had been built up for me by people telling me it was a good game. It's not. It's really not.

There's slow and then there's that. Look at the other stuff on the list. Breath of Fire 3 has you roasting a bunch of poor fuckers alive, Legend of Dragoon had already gone through its basics at the one hour mark, by the time an hour has passed, SOMETHING should have happened.
