Corneria -> Meteo -> Fichina -> Sector X -> Macbeth -> Area 6 -> Venom

I always get a Mission Accomplished but manually switch my route. Going to Fichina over Katina or Zoness makes more story sense with how Star Wolf appears later, and I prefer to use the Landmaster at least once (and the train sequence is a spectacle). Solar sucks.

I don't think that's what the world records do due to all the exploits in Aquas for example, but for casual players, that is the best route. And all the levels are fun, too, whereas Aquas and Zoness are shit.

bruh it's eight switches that you hit once each right at the end, they're always in the same place, they're so damn easy to get. Don't understand how you've come to this conclusion. They're so easy and the train running into the station is probably my favourite moment in the whole game.

If you want to max out your score there is only one choice.

Use charge shots to take down several at once for bonuses and you can max out your shot down counter on many levels.

Make Pepper say "What!" At the bill. If he says "it's worth it," your an amateur. It was not odd for me to break 170,000 credits on this route.

Aquas would honestly be fine if your vision wasn’t dependent on the torpedoes. I get that it’s vital to the atmosphere, but when you need the torpedoes for other things and they’re locked out for several seconds at a time, that’s a problem.

Could you imagine going through a standard corridor type level on Venom, but also having Star Wolf harass you throughout it? Having to break/boost/somersault to get them off your tail, shooting them so they stop harassing your wingmates, and then finally confronting them in all-range mode at the entrance to Andross' lair? They could even make it so that if you're focused and skilled enough you could kill some or all of them before you actually get to the entrance, but anyone who doesn't die gets a health recharge for the final confrontation so it wouldn't be TOO easy. It would be so fun.

I think you should be able to get the medals without using change shots, but shooting them at the most obvious groups makes getting the medal easier. It's actually fairly difficult to get the medals with just lasers, no bombs or change shots, so it's a good challenge run to try

Every level has a certain amount of hit points you need to get a medal, you also have to make sure all your teammates stay alive. Corneria has 150 Hit Points, Zoness has 250, Fichina has 50, it depends on the level, so yes you will be shooting. A LOT. Sector Z is the hardest because your teammates can shoot the missiles and ruin your chance at a medal.

it's all about finding that sweet spot when holding the A button that fires several shots in succession without holding it too long to trigger the charge, get hyper lasers, the twin blue ones, use the practice stage to get the rhythm down, some of the stages are diabolically tough, Area 6 needs 300 kills, Macbeth needs 200 and you have to accomplish the mission hitting all the switches, Zoness is probably the hardest level to medal with a really high hit count, a tough objective and many occasions for rescuing other pilots, this was one of the first games i sought to complete 100%, it's fun even if you miss the goal
