Finally got me a CRT and got this fucking raspberry pi outputting correctly to it! What CRT goodness should I play? Also is this Toshiba Theaterview SD a good model?

That CRT has more lag than most LCDs actually. Also that looks blurry and eye straining.

>What CRT goodness should I play?

Try Cathode 2: Ray Tracers. I hear it's pretty good but there were not many games for the system.

>Also is this Toshiba Theaterview SD a good model?

It's an officially licensed clone, but it's a late revision so it's not supposedly riddled with some of the more infamous hardware bugs, plus it's far easier to mod.

I thought it looked pretty clear? I do have the sharpness on 0 though. So it probably is blurry but I don’t like the sharpness very high on any of my TVs. The input lag thing sucks but I haven’t noticed it playing Gracie’s 3 so it can’t be that bad?

nice man, getting emulators running through a crt is always a joy. Just play whatever games you're interested in. Why not some fighting games like street fighter or mortal kombat? Or how bout emulating portable games like gb and gba? anything you throw on there is gonna look great/.

Those are very good sets. Prefer the curved ones, but yours looks good.

Though I do agree that a Rpi would do better overall on an lcd, there is certainly nothing wrong with enjoying an old game on an old tv.

My OLED is great and all but there’s something very comfy about a CRT. My PC is hooked up to my OLED when I’m in the mood for that and reads the same save folder as my raspi however so I can continue the same game on either.

I did the same recently. It's a really nice emulator setup. An affordable option until I'm willing to drop hundreds on flashcarts at least.

play Super Smash TV for SNES

Ditch that retarded pi thing and get a proper PC first, then you can actually take advantage of that CRT and play low latency video games.

You can change the theme to either one designed for 240p, or set the menu to work in 480i while games run in 240p.

My CRT cuts off parts of the screen in the corners and it really bothers me. Using a Magnavox 19MDTR20/17 , not sure if it can be changed in the settings anywhere. If anyone has used this same TV before and knows anything lmk.
It’s particularly annoying because it’s not consistent how much it cuts off on what sides. Like in fighting games, the health bars are always cut off and never look the same length.

Not everyone has the space for a bunch of consoles and cartridges. Also it looks like a cleaner setup without having to worry about cable management.
