Should I get the original version or the PS3/360 remaster?

Emulate it on Dolphin

>> No.5421883

don't get the one on the Dreamcast. I played it recently and holy shit I forgot how bad the dpad is on this console. My poor thumb

My PC's not good enough for emulation.

Mine isn't either, I still emulated it anyway.

Sonyggers btfo

>> No.5422003

Download Redream and play it on emulator. Don't bother with the X version, they ruined some cutscenes.

Nice try kid, but the ds1/2/3 have the best d-pad in the history of video games, and it is especially good for tank control survival horror.

MD/Gen has better D-pad. Then Saturn. Then somewhere comes SNES. At the bottom you have abominations like the Jag D-pad and whatever the fuck Sony slapped on the PS1 controller.

>> No.5422095

The ps360 gen is an actual remaster, so there is native widescreen and some tweaks to lighting. It's worth noting that the ps4 version is actually an emulation of the ps2 version, so the aspect ratio will be stretched phat. In that regard I would just go for the actual ps2 or even DC version.

Play the Darkside Chronicles Campaign.

This is RE Code Valium.

Are you dumb niggers trolling? Look at this work of art. It is almost flush with the shell and you get so much fucking control with it. Literally could not be better.

The remaster has horrible lighting. I'd avoid it. The DC, GCN, PS2 versions are all good, comes down to personal preference.

I hate Sony but I have to agree, the PSX pad is literally perfect.

Is the emulated version of the PS2 one available in the PS4 decent?

>> No.5422427

It's decent, it's running at like 1080p so so at least the models look crisp.
Again, aspect ratio be damned.

It is everything that you need. D-pads that are on some strange circle like thing that moves the entire thing when you touch it are awful. Anything even remotely close to pic related is just garbage as far as dpads are concerned.

It is good because it reminds me of ds1

I guess Capcom really hated the remaster. They even released the PS2 version for PS3 in jp psn store even when the remaster was already out.

Neither of you have used a Sony controller and it's painfully obvious, even though you have opposite opinions. I can hardly take anyone on this board seriously. It's like you've all just seen a a single picture of something and think you know it inside and out.

The d-pad is still a single piece, and rocks/moves like the Sega controller pictured by the second poster.

I thought it was because they didn't have the source. I heard something about Nex Entertainment folding being a factor in that.

This.

While the HD port looks much sharper, the lighting is so fucked in some areas that it becomes hard to spot certain items, it also feels soulless in comparison to the original.

>> No.5423617

Why would they rerelease the ps2 version for PS3 after the remaster? That has nothing to do with not having source code.

Are you trolling? I am well aware of what the dpad is beneath the shell, it's how the dpad feels above the shell that is important.
