the top 5 things I play regularly

only better home version of the game is the 32X one, and the 32X isn't remotely worth it (Saturn and PS2 versions have hideous handling issues, the PS2 version is crazy bad for how good it looks otherwise)
mildly choppy and kinda ugly, but it's remarkably accurate to arcade for what it is

Star Control - the original 2-player asteroids-esque space duelling game. Fun, original, and having played it makes the legendary Star Control 2 more enjoyable

Buck Rogers Countdown to Doomsday - turn-based squad combat SRPG with AD&D rules, space ship battles, a good story and generally provide a lot of enjoyment

Gauntlet - the Genesis version is probably the definitive home console version of the game and it has a very satisfying quasi-RPG mode and phenomenal music

TMNT HyperSstone: Heist is basically re-hash of Turtles in Time and the original Arcade game. But It 's a damn fine beat 'em up regardless. The game plays great, runs smoothly and even has a good soundtrack..

Arrow Flash is fun if you want an easier shmup. Also the Genesis version of Pac-Mania is my favorite since you can Max the speed and turn pac-boost always on. If you're playing with an arcade stick it's so fucking fun and almost like an entirely new game.
