You call people autistic, and yet you make up some arbitrary rules that say you can't play certain systems because you can easily remove them from the room where you usually hole up and play video video games. That's something an actual autistic person would come up with. Also, you're trying way too hard to be accepted as an adult. If you want to fake your maturity a little better, then quit sounding so overly-concerned with being caught doing childish things. Just looking at old games from before you were born on an image board themed around edgy cartoons from Japan isn't going to cut it. The knife fights are boring, the only changed puzzle I've seen so far was shockingly stupid (nor do I have any idea what I'm supposed to be doing with the blue boxes), and not only does having more enemies only gets stuffed by having more ammo, but I'm not exactly playing this game for the rich combat. Why is Resident Evil 1 Remake so shit compared to the original, everyone kept shilling it here but holy fuck it's a very divisive experience for me.
It tries to be fresh but it isn't, it's a hell of a lot more backtracking, the campy horror is gone which was arguably my favorite part, and it tries to lengthen the overall experience but it feels draggy.

The modern horror elements aren't exactly terrifying either, Lisa Trevor is forced down your throat pretty hard and facing her is boring modern horror that I'm exactly evading by playing Resident Evil.

I've got a really stupid question regarding the attack and aiming which also applies to 2 and 3.
So, you pull out your gun and can aim up or down but when you aim up it goes all the way up so obviously the shots will miss.
Are you supposed to aim for the head while the aiming is returning to its neutral position?

The only moment I've found aiming up is actually useful is in 2 right at the beginning with the zombies on the side of the fence in the basketball yard.

>> No.5371690

>>5371675
As far as enemies on the ground go, the main purpose of aiming up is going for headshots, but as you already saw, it only works if you're VERY up close, because otherwise the shots will just miss.

I think a close range upwards aiming shot with the shotgun is pretty much guaranteed to blow a zombie's head off, at least in RE2.

I just don't get how so many think it can replace the original when there is too many differences. I like Lisa but I do agree it feels a bit odd and out of place for the game. It seems to me that they included it mainly to pad out the game a bit more and give the game another boss to fight besides just animals and Tyrant. One thing nobody ever seems to point out about it but me from what I have seen is that the REmake mansion is actually a much more generic spooky haunted mansion trope and you guys bringing up Lisa kind of plays into that actually. Really the only thing REmake's mansion was missing to make it fully like a haunted mansion trope was ghosts in the mansion but obviously that would have been way too out of place and they wouldn't have went that far. This is another reason I prefer the original. Sure REmake's atmosphere is great but so was RE1's.

The original was shockingly easy on both Chris and Jill, the puzzles were braindead, and the only real thing to think about was item juggling while I was sprinting from door to door. The remake has things approaching actual puzzles, and zombies are an actual threat because I'm so starved for stuff to deal with them and it's tougher to just snake around them, especially with them being able to sometimes follow you across rooms or have rooms get suddenly flooded. It just feels like a lot more stuff has been filled out to feel more like a tense crawl through a hostile environment instead of a haunted house themed obstacle course.

Resident Evil 1 was a fun campy horror movie trope with memorably bad voice acting and an awful yet interesting story, if it would be a movie it would be an excellent campy film with interesting concepts that make it layered nonetheless.
As a game it's the same thing but with excellent gameplay that is still fun today, like avoiding or killing zombies depending on their position, a mansion that feels like a maze you get lost in over and over again.

Remake isn't campy horror, it's an attempt to make the first part of a bigger world, a very serious game with themes of sorrow, regret, and betrayal.
All camp is replaced with very monotone delivery, it's overly obsessed with making the first game make sense and look and feel real.
Everything added isn't necessarily good or better, it's more and bigger but that doesn't make it true, it just lengthens the experience.
