Again, it has nothing to do with his opinions or your opinions anons, he's literally hateful of your culture because he's brainwashed to believe that his own lack of joy is someone else's fault and that he can rank up through acts of hate by someone who is literally by design depriving him of pleasure for their own benefit. He's an expendable pawn manipulated by the older generation of his own culture, but he's completely broken in spirit to the extent that he cannot reclaim his own self-determination and can at best emulate the persecution commited unto him by his own elders when he himself comes of age.

He is not allowed to love or enjoy anything so it is literally all he can do to try and bring others to his level, and breaking free of his programing isn't even a dream to him.

To argue with this person or take them seriously at any point is to fall into the same trap he is, of thinking that in this state he is still a sentient human being and not another man's tool imprisoned in a system of lies and abuses.

I recall the early stuff up until the Esper flashback right after the Opera and after that I really only remember the tileset of the World of Chaos map, the end of that one magic tower you climb to get the OP item, the entrance and the exit of the endgame dungeon and the last boss battle with the sick music.

In terms of FF7 I remember a ton more locations and boss battles, although not a lot about the main story after the Temple of the Ancients to be fair.

Eh, not the whole thing. They didn't implant memories from another soldier into Terra, there wasn't a hard time-skip to a dark world in VII, the individual side-character sub-plots are largely different, the starting location in VI wasn't a massive nation of sorts filled with multiple platters, technology, and slums that often took players hours to get through.

They certainly copy a lot from each other. More than a lot, really. But there's enough different even in the plot alone to distinguish them. Like they're not ENTIRELY the same thing.

Even in just the big picture. Of course the more you simplify it and leave out the more they'll look the same. But you have to simplify it down to a single paragraph to make them fully comparable. Which I do believe is some form of reduction to absurdity, or at least an absurd reduction.

Time to blog:
I was just getting into JRPG's a few years before FFVII, it started with Secret of Mana, and from then, I was hooked, and made sure to keep an eye out for games made by this 'Squaresoft' company.
It still was this 'secret club' more or less, I live in Europe, and 'gaming' may have been upcoming, but JRPG's sure were niche as it possible could be.
In any case, by the time FFVII was releasing, I bought my copy (and still have it) on release day. I had played Chrono Trigger, FF3(VI), Super Mario RPG, Evermore. Pretty much everything I could get my hands on. Internet also slowly started to become a thing, and I remember getting pics, and music files slowly trinkling in, and magazines and even commercials of FFVII.
I was hyped as fuck to say the least.
And even being hyped as fuck, FFVII, blew my mind with how it looked and played. I had, expectations to the moon and beyond by the time I finally played it, and it surpassed it.
After that, the whole world quickly caught on, but FFVII will always have a special place, I don't I'll ever get to experience that amount of hype for vidya ever again (I've grown more mature I'd like to think) and I don't think any game will ever (at least in my mind) be able to raise the bar in one installment as much as FFVII did.
Thanks for reading! (And no, this isn't a pasta or anything).

An angsty, stupid story that could have been written by a 12 year old

Horribly inconsistent in-game graphics

Stupid, pain in the ass minigames

"One of the main character died? I guess we can't bring them back to life by the same method we've done it tons of times before now!" (And don't tell me Phoenix Downs are just for "knocked out" players. Please stop repeating the same G-rated Nintendofied Final Fantasy stuff they fed us in the NES/SNES games.)

Pain in the ass gameplay and combat
