The normal game does not feature the ~4 seconds where she floats into the air, gently wafts toward the enemy, finishes her animation and then drifts on back.
Instead, they just completed their (beautiful) animations on-the-spot since we were still crossing the whole 'dudes should physically move up to the guys they're fighting' bridge-- we didn't really get there for a while either, especially not on the SNES.

I respect it for being the first to do what it did on such a large scale, but since then it's formula has been expanded on so much. I'm not going to refer to something as 'the best ever' if it's no longer the best at what it does/did.

It's pretty standard for older FPS. But I know in Duke Nukem 3d you could change the how weapon overlay looked to a few modes, one where it was minimalist. Only reason I would want to play it is because it's easier to setup with modern hardware.
