Excogitate with me as to how Mario 64 is not vintage Mario in three dimensions, but a collectathon adjunct (that supplanted the preeminent series similar to how Persona supplanted SMT). Contrarily, Mario 3D World is vintage Mario in three dimensions. There is desideratum for a Sonic game that is homologous to Mario 3D World. A 3D game that functions like the 2D games with the only dissimilitude being a supplementary dimension. A game with pinball physics, momentum, and genuine platforming contrary to homing attack spam and imbecilic boost.

Classic Sonic has a tastefully elegant design, the music is whimsical, and the aesthetic is delightful. He appears much more like a small mammalian that can form a trundling spheroid. Contrarily, Nouveau Sonic has the appearance of an uncouth gangly oleaginous twit that admires Limp Bizkit and babbles hackneyed slanguage that was antiquated two decades before he originally spoke.

The classics have perspicuously surrealist fantasy environments that are pulchritudinous and iconic. This is lost in Nouveau Sonic’s salmagundi of cityscapes, realistic textures, and environments denuded of idiosyncrasy. Green Hill would not possess a superior presentation if you reconstituted the checkered ground with an HD dirt texture.

This board is for the discussion of classic video games and classic video game characters, in contrast to modern video characters. Sega was kind enough to help us in this endeavor by labeling which of their mascots is acceptable for /vr/ and which is not. The sonic that is acceptable to discuss here was conveniently named "Classic Sonic" or simply "Sonic". The Sonic that is off-topic and against the rules is conveniently named "Modern Sonic" or "Not Retro". Thank you for your cooperation.

It's a different kind of game. But if you don't like Marble's more trad platforming design, I don't know how you'd say 8bit Sonic 1 is better than OG Sonic 1.
