Anyone love House of the Dead?

I played the first HotD today for the first time, pic related... I beat it in $2.50 AND I was placed second in the leader board. I probably could have been placed first if I tried shooting objects for points and if I didnt switch guns half-way through.

I've been wanting to buy the Saturn version for a while now, but atleast I beat the first one for real.

I'm "JON" on the leaderboard.

Also, technically we can talk about HOTD2, since the Arcade Cab came out before 1999.

HOTD2 was actually the second game I ever beat, the fist being some NES title.

I streamed Typing Of The Dead a while back on the PC, it was fucking hilarious since they just pasted the Dreamcast+Keyboard onto the characters and called it good.

Such a fun game, not a fan of 4 but 3 with the pump shotgun is god tier

Is the Wii bundle/remake even worth getting?

My Wii and Zapper have been collecting dust since '06 now.

>> No.534820

The first one is the only one I've never played. I've played 2, 3, 4 and 4 Special before Vegas's Gameworks closed down. Fun games, I still play 2 and 3 trying to beat them with less and less credits.

It depends, if you've already got 3 and a gun for the Xbox, then don't bother. Otherwise go for it.

Its worth it if you like railshooters.

If you are a big HOTD fan, and you have a CRT, I suggest getting HOTD2 for the DC.

OP here. 4 is actually the only one I never played. The only way for me to play 4 is for the PS3, but I need a PSmove.

I know this isn't /vr/ but does anyone know if 4 also comes with Special or no?

I would also like to know this, actually.

These types of threads only serve to remind me that I need a USB lightgun or a gunperipherphal for MUH WIIMOTE. HoTD and ToTD are great. I still have my PC-CD versions.

*peripheral. WTH...do feels get in the way of decent typing?

Regardless, I played the HoTD series (and Virtua Cop) over LAN for many moons. Good times, anon...good times.

The typing one on the dreamcast is fucking amazing. My aunt actually wanted it to learn how to type.

>> No.535296

i got ToTD on DC, it's mad fun 2 player.
but, it does suck in the later levels when the other person is a bit sub par typing wise.
WAY better typing tutor than Mario Teaches Typing.

Typing of the Dead is such a fantastic game. I never looked at House of the Dead 2 the same way again. Typing maximized the potential of that game.
