Did you play Sonic Jam today, /vr/?

Why would I? The games themselves are far better played on a real Genesis (which I own) and Sonic World is an interesting novelty that gets boring fast.

I miss the days when games got ports instead of lazy emulation.

Sonic Jam had some nifty features plus it had some brand new sound effects which sound better than the originals.

>> No.5328060

BASED compilation.
Oh, what do I want to play now? Scrap Brain Act 3? OK, cool I got a better time than last time.
What now Casino Night 1? Ok, Carnival 1? No, Spring Yard? fuck yes.
What else now, I gotta go chill on the 3D world and browse some sonikino

autism

True but the mega collection emulation of the european PC port sucks.
Just think of it this way: Sonic The Hedgehog Ultimate Classic Collection: Sonic Jam for Sega Saturn and Sonic CD for Sega CD.
Got those 2 discs, you got all canon Sonic boy.

the problem with PC Sonic CD is that it has these extra loading screens everywhere.
Best version of Sonic CD is still the original Sega CD ver.
If the hd remake didn't randomly remove the timer reset it would be the defintive, but alas.

The 'complete' edition rom hacks have largely made any other version/ports of the genesis titles obsolete. Stick sonic 3 complete on a genesis flash cart and thats as good as it gets

What kind of autist goes out of their way to go slow around sonic levels. It's not like CD has good level design or much of a good reason to explore.

>> No.5331421

>>5331397
Slow, exploration based stages can totally work in a sonic game. The level design just has to be constructed so that platforms and sections are reached by clever use of the game's physics; get to this platform by jumping into a half pipe from this height and jumping at this angle to be sent off in a specific direction etc.

The problem with CD is that the stage design is less a playground to play with the physics, or more just a hodgepodge of innane setpieces that don't coalesce in any meaningful way. But the principle could definitely work if done right
