There are people on this board RIGHT NOW who actually prefer the rainbow clown vomit that are the multicolored famicom cartridges over the sexy, sleek, uniform gray of the NES ones.

I would put them in the correct order of the rainbow colors if i had the chance.
But i'm too a bit more fan of the mini-title labels.
Balance between comfort and aesthetic.

I often wonder if Mahjong games (of which every system in Japan has about 30) are actually made by game companies or if they just sort of grow and multiply on their own like some weird parasite.

Educate this baka gaijin. Are Mahjong games like Japan's equivalent of Madden and other EA sports games?

Asian bugmen love porn and absolutely love gambling, plus mahjong are extremely quick and cheap to develop, what's there not to get? I'm not being racist either if you go to any casino you'll quickly notice the (dis)proportion of Chinese to white people is 10:1

They are even more shameless cashgrabs since at least madden bothers to change up the gameplay every couple years.

The great thing about Western systems like C64, Apple II, ZX Spectrum is that there are absolutely no Mahjong games for them. :^)

Half the FDS library consists of unlicensed porn games most of which are really dull card and Mahjong shit, the Japanese equivalent of strip poker games mostly.

The grey color on snes cartridge is awesome because it makes so much more awesome games that had a special color, like that red spiderman game.

nowadays everybody plays on their phones though, the games are pretty good too. Tenhou is my choice but there is pretty much one from every company.

In the day, consoles were basically like smartphones, so just about every game maker had a mahjong game (including Nintendo's own official games). They often get shoved in as filler in bulk sales, so unless you very carefully buy games, you're almost certainly gonna get one. It's like the herpes of Japanese games.

That's definitely Shanghai, the name for the single-player tile-matching game played with mahjong tiles. JP mahjong games in particular will always be played by Japanese "Riichi" rules, and be a 2- or 4-player affair.
